I have simply GOT to get a new ATC add-on for FSX.  I'm still flying 100% offline and the FSX ATC sucks.  Tonight I got vectored onto a 60 mile final for the ILS 33L into BWI.  I go through all this pain and then don't you know ATC vectors a Southwest 737 in front of me, to land BEHIND me?  So on about a 3 mile final I have to click off autopilot, duck under this guy, and then recover my approach, while he, of course, gets a go-around.  WTF?  I'm so sick of these 50 and 60 mile vectors to final.

Earlier this week I got vectored onto 3 go-arounds into ATL; finally I just scooted over to the adjacent runway on short final when I had a plane cluttering the runway so I could get the flight over with.

I'm going to go check out Radar Contact and see what the reviews say about it.

I hate this too, (pain in the a$$) when the ATC becomes erratic bunching up landing aircraft of active runways just in front or behind you, even with low density air traffic setting. I haven't ventured in MP as far as having the op of a human ATC vectoring me for landing, must be fun for sure, but still prefer SP over MP anyday.

I just got my First Officer rating in the MD-80 series at Delta Virtual, so I'm going to be taking that up for a spin.

Nice rig you got there Jomni!

The problem with mp in VATSIM is that you won't get as many aircraft in the airports and the skies as with SP.

what's going on with the Tristar?

When I first got it and was doing the tutorial, the first page of the tutorial mentions clicking S and L on the panel selector

But now when I loaded it up, they are not there

^NEVERMIND....loaded the wrong Tristar (actually loaded the wrong mission which had a different Tristar!)!

New rig = SUPERB quality in this game...but it does seem to crash pretty bloody often. That's going to make Air Hauler a pita.

Freight dog from KFLL to SBEG IFR.

While trying the ILS approach on RWY 10 with, the ATC was responsible for the THREE (3) go arounds (bastard must've been drunk). I finally managed to land safely on a visual approach with bad weather conditions.

Judge, I seem to crash a lot with the Tristar as well.. getting frustrating, at first I thought it was FSX.. but now that I think of it, it's been in that plane.

I took the Mad Dog up last night into the pattern at KSLC last night, just to goof off and get a sense of how the plane flies.  Man alive but is that a tough plane to fly!  It's all about trim.  I didn't even have trim tabs mapped to my HOTAS since I fly the PMDG 737 so much and just don't need them in that plane.

Once I got my head wrapped around trim it was a bit easier, but it was still tough.  The plane seems really underpowered.  I thought for a while that it was an issue with my throttle.  When the gear and flaps are out the plane needs a ton of power to maintain speed and it's very unresponsive to throttle input.

I'm going to need to spend more time with it for sure.  The 737 is so much friendlier to fly.  What a gentle plane the 737 is.

Goddammit!

2 crashes in Air Hauler (well FSX whilst running Air Hauler)...which means my mission has been missed and I've lost rep.

This is where Air Hauler sucks balls. You should be allowed to "adjust" the rep. You work hard each mission to gain 05. rep - and if you screw up you lose 2 rep...that means you need to perform 4 successful missions to get back to where you were. I wouldn't mind if it was my bloody fault...but with FSX booting you out, there should be a mechanism where you could just take the success and move on.

::)

Getting bored with crashes. And it's not my new system. I've always suffered occasional crashes in FSX - with and without air hauler and even before I had the addons I have now!
