I'm obsessed with finding rudders now. I'm shocked at how limited the options are...WTF?

Thanks jomni, how is the 777?  I have my eye on the A330 and A32x.  I also saw the release of the IXEG 737 and it looks pretty sweet.

It's fine. I fly it if I want a big plane (don't have the 330) but it's no PMDG and find it to be quite heavy to fly compared to PMDG 777.  I think their (FlightFactor / VMAX) later additions 757 and 767 are better.

My CH rudder pedals are going on 10 years old through at least 5 moves.  Rock solid, even if not the prettiest pedals out there.

Serial or USB? I had a pair of serial pedals a long time ago. They were lost in one of the many moves I endured during the second half of the 2010's

Interesting...those are pretty easy to find, but I haven't really been paying attention because the reviews are lukewarm, at best. A lot of complaints about quality and placement of the pedals being too close together...but heck, if they're good enough for Toonces...

I am with Toonces. My CH pedals have been great.

I would be interested to talk to folks who complain about quality. All my CH gear gets heavily used and has soldiered on for years.

They're USB.  The pedals are close together no doubt.  And they're plastic.  But the bad boys work, so what can I say?

They're the only ones I've ever owned, so I don't have a point of comparison.  I say buy through Amazon, try 'em, and if you don't like them you can always send them back for free (if you buy through Amazon and not 3rd party).

I got a pair of VKB rudder pedals, by far the best I've had.  They blow my saitek pedals out of the water.  They are manufactured in Russia, but you can now purchase them from a U.S. online web site that's run by the same guy who runs 777 flight sims.  If you truely want the best pedals, get the crosswinds, custom made in Serbia.

Seriously though, my VKB set didn't cost that much more than CH pedals and the construction is all metal.  VKB is coming out with full range of hotas in the near future as well.

I looked into these. They won't be available in the US for another 7 weeks. I think the new version is coming out.

I have had my CH Pro Pedals for over 10 years and they are still in working order, but their accuracy was never to write home about.
I always need a fairly large deadzone and a curve to make them feel like they give the input real rudder Pedals give. They also had nasty spikes in their output, but that's probably the years demanding their toll now.

Construction is good though, no matter the fact they are plastic.
They have been picked up today by a friend actually, so they're going to see action again.
I got my MFG's for my birthday last December and yes, they are in a league of their own.

X-Life. AI and ATC plugin. Wonder how good this is compared to the faulty default one and FSX.

PanzersEast

I have X-Plane 10 installed and started testing and re-learning my simming flow.  So far so good, but I still have the FSX tendency on how to click and open etc.... but getting there.  I have noticed that with the image you see below, would have never been possible in FSX, running at 2560x1440 as seen below I was still getting around 19 FPS.  That is will ai traffic and all the eye candy you see, traffic etc on an old 660GTX....  I am getting the 1080 at the end of the month.  I noticed that my CPU was not breaking a sweet, however my GPU was taking a hit.

Just a readjustment, but so far I believe I may stick with X-Plane only, there is so much good freeware and scripts out there.... and the new A/C coming out is getting up there in quality and system modeling.  For VFR flying, it appears that X-Plane just cannot be beat.

I saw that as well, looks good.

One last major discrepancy is winter, how do you deal with no winter textures ?  It's snowing in xplane but the ground looks like summer ?
