Quotethough our European friends will be screwed over

The typical BS...same as with the new consoles - the PS4 costs 399 USD and in Germany I have to pay...399€ which is a lot more.

So, just out of curiosity... playing a full war, global scenario... how long would it take to play the full game?

I suppose pretty much as long as the real war lasted...

The first turn-based, truly "real-time" game?

LOL!
Judge, there may be more than one way to skin a Kzin. How much does it cost to ship a 10 pound so called 'gift' from the USA to the UK? One valued at, oh say $99?

Well, shoot me a PM next week if your subsequent forum reading adventures cause you to want to discuss transatlantic shipping trivia.

Thank you - but I'd be too worried about customs throwing an extra charge in there.

I can do without the game. I have PLENTY to be getting on with and I do not need a hardcore distraction like this game.

Besides - the community over there seems a little too hostile for me...

But thanks anyway. The offer is much appreciated

The game came in cheaper than I thought but with no AI  (or PBEM) options it was little  chance of a sale for me.

Maybe when the dust settles and if the AI version ever sees the light of day  I'll take the plunge.

I played a division level, turn based, hand moderated PBM WW2 game in the early 90's. The cost was $20 per turn and one game had over 80 players. I was Grand Admiral Raeder of the Kriegsmarine and the German team consisted of 16 players (to start with). Each turn represented 2 weeks of game time and it took the company an average of 3 weeks to run each turn!

I wish to hell I could find out info on that game now. I think it was just called "World War 2", which isn't much help on Google.

mmm...I think I would've popped the price if it was £80.

The people celebrating the price are the people who have been saying they'd pay whatever it takes. I'm always wary of that kind of statement...it gives an open pricing policy to a company. They are also big boardgame fans. I've noticed a big influx in Matrix and in particular that forum of "new blood".

£80 was a probably - but one thing in particular I HATE to pay is "empty pounds" - pounds that don't actually give me anything...postage, tax, customs...all of which are applicable here...and at a hefty £47 just for tax and postage (not including what customs would charge me)...I consider that and OUTRAGEOUS amount of wasted money.

When Matrix mentioned it was "all about the physical product" for this game, they forgot to mention "...even though our European friends will be screwed over".

It's cool. I have Blood and Bridges to get on with anyway and then a very enticing RAF Battle of Britain boardgame to learn.

Is the most expensive computer game ever?

Or the biggest computer game? Not even sure how to measure that. I suspect that MMOs are larger in that the play areas is bigger (an entire world). But I wonder if this is the biggest computer map ever for a PC game.
