A pure shame there's no mention about people who currently bought it in a pretty unworkable state and a free AI or something.

Looks to be the same $100 as the box set only without the shipping....did I read that correctly?

Yep, that what I get.... $115 CAD..... still too much for me for it not working and not even any Netplay.... maybe some day when I'm retired....

I am retired but can't afford to spend that much on a single game...$100 is about my annual gaming budget!

To tell the truth, I didn't expect anything else for new customers. I fully expected it would only be reversing their decision for hard copy only.

What I DID expect was a BIG apology to those who bought the game in the state it's in and perhaps a peace offering to those.

Of course I didn't buy it and therefore wouldn't benefit from that - but I thought they might do something for people who bought it out the gate.

As far as what they are offering - at least they listened. So kudos for that. There were people on the forum saying they would pay the same just to have the DD option (no physical shipment and therefore no books but with no postage/customs charge). I was not one of them. If I was to get a "lesser" product, I would expect a price drop (in line with all their other games).

Like I said - at least they did listen.

I'm still out though.

That's pretty much the announcement I expected.... It would have been a total surprise if they also reduced the download cost, as others mention, likely would have upset existing customers. Based on the current state of the game, some might have wanted to hold off until the new distribution centers open up and for a nominal additional price could have got the books too:) knowing what I know now, I would have held off myself. However per some posts over there seems like some people immediately bought it after the news, so some people must be happy.

I would have also like to have seen refunds accepted but that would have been tough since everyone had physical manuals in their possession:)

That's too bad. I really wanted this one to be THE strategic WWII game for me. Love the look but beauty is only screen deep. :'(

Yeah - definitely postage and physical copies were an annoyance for some people.

It still can be, though it's obviously going to take some time. I've been waiting for this monster for 16 years. I can wait another few months or even a year if I have to.

I wouldn't say £78 (what dd would cost me) was too expensive for a game of this size and scale. But I do think it's way too much for a broken product. And everything I've been reading tells me it's broken...at various points.

Yep, agreed. If it turns out to be the monster everyone thought, with the ai, then really no issue with price. Just with all the current issues and complexities, I have my doubts. But keeping fingers crossed!

Seems like interesting discussions starting from a former beta tester, kind of gives the impression of some discontent behind the scenes. Who knows if really true or not and probably most testing programs don't please everyone, but still kind of interesting, especially since this game is still far from complete.

Hoping to read someday where they offer refunds for this game, but I doubt it. Just can't see playing it anytime soon.
