I fly IL-2 1946, CFS2 and 3 (and a really good MTO mod for CFS3.), BOB2, and EAW.

(Although the answer is because WW2 will sell, and Korea might or might not.  Not worth the gamble, probably.  It's a niche that could be filled, though, just like a dedicated Vietnam sim...)

It's WWII because Oleg and his mob are firmly stuck there. They have no inclination nor desire to move from it.

I wouldn't be surprised if the WWII DCS game is stuck in the eastern front!  :(

Totally not interested in WWII in DCS and I'm saddened they are even bothering. From my point of view, Korea, Vietnam, Cold War and modern day are where my interests lie. I'm burned out on WWII

there should be a fuckstart button at kickstart-side where you can take 50$ away from the project and add it back to your own account  when you can prove ownership of a copy of CLod  ;D

Indeed they are as a studio. My bad.
Still, the IL2 classic crew joining forces with ED is good news!

I am very excited for the project. As an aviation enthousiast I find the WW2 Era something special and do not easily get tired of it.
As a wargamer I agree that the Era has been overdone.
But if the new sim is going to have DCS: P51 fidelity for all aircraft I will insta-buy on day one. Eventhough we have had various WW2 sims, no sim has provided this kind of fidelity for the Era so far. It will be a dogfighter's dream if it all works and is featured as advertised!

Being able to fly each airframe in accordance with real life operating manuals is the hardcore simmer's dream. :)

As far as the Eastern Front; not for the first release. The hint is the title; DCS: WW2 Europe
So Oleg and his crew did unstick themselves from the Eastern Front somewhat, but we can confidently expect more Eastern stuff later is my bet.

For many the WW2 Era is something special in the history of aviation and I can only be very excited to have a high fidelity sim on the horizon, especially after the disaster of CLoD (which admittedly is in a pretty decent State at this time).
