I recently lost all controller assignments on all planes. Why aren't those stored in the online account?

Saving your controls is more tedious than you think.  There's a file and a folder that stores each aircraft's profile.  You have to go into the controls menu and link each aircraft to that profile in the folder...it's a hassle.  Not simply cut'n paste.  Alot of the DCS pros use 3rd party apps to store their control settings so that a fresh install is just cut'n paste.

On a different note, I'm actually most excited about the DTC addition.  Can't wait until it's fleshed out more, but great feature to finally have and complex missions won't be such a hassle to get going anymore.

I find setting controls in DCS pretty easy. Not sure what the fuss is about.

Agree, setting them up is nice and intuitive.  The fuss is, a reinstall and having to start over, compounded with a huge collection of aircraft.  There's some guides on how to do it, not simply a cut'n paste.

I guess it is just not something I do often. I pretty much only reinstall when I get a new rig every few years.

Iirc the settings for all aircraft was just a folder that I used to copy out.
However, what I did was print out my hotas diagrams and label all the buttons for each function in each aircraft. If they ever get wiped it's a pain but at least I know what my setup was.

During the last 2 smaller patches they changed something about the loading from disk.

My install now gets into the first Viggen mission in 1:52 min (not counting the pre-launcher).

Well that's just terrible (if your previous load times were 5 seconds).

I'm not having this issue. Maybe try running a repair? Do you have any mods installed?

Issue? I'm not being sarcastic. These are the fastest load times I ever had.

The time went from 3:09 min to 1:52 with the last two (small) patches. This is right after a machine reboot, to clear RAM of cached disk contents. Specifically I measure the time to be in-plane in the first Viggen mission, while excluding the initial pre-launcher.

I have a couple airplane mods installed and own quite a few modules.

30 seconds, or less.

I just tested my system with that mission.

First time was 54 seconds from mission select to in the cockpit.

Starting again (but not coming out of DCS - just going back to mission selectiong) it took 15 seconds to load the mission.

I have the game installed on a Samsung EVO 970 Plus NVME drive.
