There was this article about the hack

JD, I remember that hack last year. They sent us a big email and then forced all users to change passwords. So needing a new password does not indicates you were personally hacked. But scammers and phishing schemes are still fairly prevalent for all these major retailers.

MY account wasn't hacked - but my password had been reset - and I suspect by Origin/EA as a precaution.

But my pals account has been hacked. Be aware.

Interesting you guys brought this up cuz I had my BF 3 account hacked last year by some Russian punks who were playing on my account.  I layed into them pretty heavy with some serious trash talk and how they are giving Russian culture a bad name with all the sketchy internet fraud and hacking that is coming out of there lately.  I reported it to EA and reset my passwords, haven't had a problem since.

Funny thing was that the Russian hackers actually responded by saying "please let us keep playing on your account, we are poor and can't afford to buy battlefield".  I was like if your that poor and your out hacking video games, your priorities are messed up.

Oh loving the game by the way, so much better than BF 3.  The crashes are extremely annoying, I have learned to avoid maxed out 64 servers as for me those usually crash every other round.  I found a few 48 player servers that will go for 10 straight rounds before a crash.

When you do get a crash, go back to the server and see if everyone is still playing.  If it was a crash on your side, wait for the round to end before rejoining, and your stats will update.  If the crash was on the server and there are no players still in, then your stats are gone, so your free to rejoin any where.

I've been able to level up pretty quick, but the skill rating is all f'up this time around.  If you kill a higher level player or get killed by a lower level player, it drastically affects your skill rating.  Also I get like negative 20 skill for winning a round as commander and killing a couple guys with tomahawk missles....wtf.

My account appears to be ok and my password has not been reset so far  ???

It was a year or more ago and it might have only been a localized thing of a certain group of users.

It is tiring to see that one has to be constantly vigilant against phising scams, password theft, and account hacking, but that is the world in which we live. Steam is also something to watch, btw, but I think they instituted an ISP tracking security measure that locks you out if you suddenly change ISP and don't authenticate it.
