So after being sucked in by the eye candy posted....I went a different direction:)

Picked up Endless Legends instead:)

Nah, whatever floats your boat, man.  I'll admit those were some pretty cool-looking screenies 'geek put up, so I can't really can't blame you.  :)  I hope you enjoy it!

yep, those pictures are what changed my mind...however, still a good chance I'll pick up FE as well while on sale.

Gusington

That's exactly why I am leaning towards Endless Legend as well, and sorta hijacked this thread. Shall I start an Endless Legend  thread? is there one already? Must check...

Well Martok, I purchased both this weekend...after all my going back and forth:)  Heck I even picked up Warlock 2 when I got it for a great price and I typically never play these types of games:)

I don't know about that, but I am willing to try new things:)

Went through the tutorial and played a bit...have to admit, I do like it.  Although only have played both games in a short time, I actually think I am enjoying FE:LH a little bit more.  Likely because it is in a finished state more than anything.  Thanks again for the heads up....

Martok

You're welcome!  Glad you're enjoying it so far.  :)

Actually even having fun with the character creators...kind of nice you can customize your own.  Still will take me a lot to understand, but it will be fun doing so.

I really want to like LH, but I don't. I hate that no matter what setting I change, I always end up with strong world monsters surrounding my starting area. Ruins my enjoyment when I throw 2-3 armies at them and they all get wiped out. All while the AI is expanding like rabbits.
PanzersEast: Have to think to myself.... will I play the first one by the Winter Sale?  Probably not, then I should remove Dragonfall
PanzersEast: but that is thinking too logically.... and Steam Sales are about ignoring Logic

^Having played many games, I can say honestly that I've not had that happen but rarely. Usually the wanderers aren't that difficult early in the game. The more deadly creatures in lairs? Part of the key is not expanding your borders near enough to trigger them until you have high enough level heroes to take them down. With many of the monsters, that starts at level 7 with some decent equipment. Conversely, I've been known to set up an outpost next to a major rival city simply to trigger a monster, knowing that even if my outpost gets taken down their city might be next :) Go go Godzilla!!!

I haven only played today but have to say I haven't really since this either....if I think they are too strong, I have avoided making contact with them.  Although it is very tempting to attack everything I see on the map:)  I have to learn control....
