Minnesota Man Convicted of Murder

The details of this case are tragic and they have chilled me to the bone. You all know how strongly I support the Second Amendment and the right of an individual to defend himself, especially in his own home.  But the acts of Byron Smith on Thanksgiving day can be described as nothing other than cold blooded murder.

This animal actually recorded the killings. The audio is horrifying.

Horrifying indeed.  There's never been much doubt around here (Little Falls is 1 1/2 hours northeast of where I live) that the guy was guilty. 

Not that these kids were exactly innocent babes -- both had priors for burglary/B&E.  They were unarmed, though, and what he did still went way beyond what anyone could possibly construe as self-defense in any case.
