Better strap on your tin foil hats.

"
The largest solar storm in five years is racing toward Earth, threatening to unleash a torrent of charged particles that could disrupt power grids, GPS and airplane flights.

The sun erupted Tuesday evening, and the effects should start smacking Earth between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. EST Thursday, according to forecasters at the federal government's Space Weather Prediction Center. They say the storm, which started with a massive solar flare, is growing as it speeds outward from the sun."

Biggest storm in five years? I barely survived the last one.

This time I'll be better prepared. I'll line my hat with kitty litter!

The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

Forget the hats, time to start foil lining my undies... :P

That's a top-drawer suggestion as well!

I'm just going to stand behind my mother-in-law. I'll be safe - she is so big she has her own gravity and eclipse schedule.

I'll go get my sun block and parasol.

mostly charged particles......   not UV radiation
My doctor wrote me a prescription for daily sex.

My wife insists that it says dyslexia but what does she know.

Shelldrake

So far so good...but expect worse to come since the current cycle of solar activity is due to peak in 2013.

OK Breezy so I'll get my radiation suit, slather myself in lead based paint and carry the parasol just because it's fashionable.

They probably figured they didn't have time and just bugged out !

So far the only result I see from this solar storm is a tingling in my loins. And that's always there.

Carries a parasol. Check.

Loins tingle. Check.

Sounds like the only thing Windy needs to prep for is condoms.
