It seems if I don't start this thing Thursday night before bed, I'll get beat to it, so, here goes. As of right now, the weekend is in flux. I want to get some Civ IV BtS MP in. I'm looking for Tuna and W8taminute to continue our Warlock MP. Plus, there is an itch for something else and I am not quite sure what it is. And if it ever stops raining, there will be the usual lawn mowing chores.
I should be around Saturday night for some Warlock action. 8)
Distant Worlds Universe - Restarting with the new beta patch
EUIV - Started a Brandenburg campaign the other night. Somehow, got myself elected as Holy Roman Emperor. Its the last thing I wanted. 30 years into the game, and with me as its leader, the HRE is blobbing up faster then usual. Bavaria has been been split between Austria and Bohemia, and I've annexed most of northern Germany. Have a couple of slow years ahead of me, as I recover my manpower and build up my economy to support my new force limit....and bleed off the aggressive expansion penalties that has most of northern Europe hating me.
Kerbal Space Program - Mimus or bust is the motto for my current space program. Made several attempts, but keep messing up on my maneuvers. Cancelled one attempt when I ended up with a Mun encounter rather then the Minmus encounter I was going for. The rest have either been a simple elliptical orbit......or Jebediah on Kermin escape trajectory.
If I can get my X-52 to to work there may be some FSX and DCS as well.
Fooling around with WitP-AE and/or WitE and/or HOI3. Taking advantage of a rare WW2 spurt, however short that may be. If none of those do it for me, I'll just fire up an HPS Panzer/Modern Campaigns title for some straightforward turn-based wargaming. I suspect that I'll be reading about, more than playing, this stuff.
Been playing some TOME again since the recent update. Also need to continue investigating Wildstar Online's gameplay.
EDIT: A good friend from high school is retiring from the Marine Corp Friday, so there will be some celebration that night. ;)
Thief, DW:U, and giving the Long War mod a try.
Definitely more Distant Worlds: Universe for me, continuing my Quameno campaign. And since talking about it in the other thread got me in the mood for it again, I'll once more be firing up Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes.
In an "ideal" universe where there are twice as many hours in a day as there currently are, I would really like to get some time in with Pandora: First Contact and Rome II as well. ::)
Working at a Contact Lens conference all weekend and then straight to London for an IBM conference ::)
Wont see the gaming rig until Wednesday

The last time i played as HRE i read up on the heinous responsibilities of the Emperor - youre not supposed to go annexing your own members!! and youre supposed to go slap Austria and Bohemia and make them reestablish Bavaria - youll get all sorts of credit and benefits and will get reelected without a hitch
Annexing for the HRE himself is for those outside the HRE - France, Burgundy, Italy - unless your RPG-ing a crazy Emperor :P

That would totally rock. To have twice as many hours in a day while not having to increase working hours or the need for sleep would be epic.

Ive got to the age where i really love sleep, I dream a lot and my dream life is much more interesting :)
Picked up Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition and Injustice Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition on STEAM for next to nothing, so I'll be re-living my Gameboy days a little with some simple slugfest fun and of course Distant Worlds Universe which is now at an epic point. The (spoliers) have given me a (spoiler) and asked me to kick ass with it.

I've dreamt about this many times...still, i have a long weekend (monday's free).
My plan:
-
Horizon: Humans ins Space I may try the new battle system (official patch should come out next week).
-
Storm over the Paficific pbem as Japan....much faster than WitP...i spend about 15 - 30 minutes per turn (only Japan).
-
Armada 2526 Supernova pbem
I think i'll use the sale on gamersgate to finally get
Civilization V and, as my credit card is ready again, i think i'll update my
Distant Worlds collection with the latest release....so two more games to play....
Hegemony Rome will have to wait for next week :uglystupid2:
No gaming for me...I'm in Vegas for the wifey's birthday. Gambling and debauchery all weekend.
One of my good buddies has turned 40 so we are having a retreat weekend to celebrate up in the woods of upstate NY...so no gaming until (and if) I return. When that happens I am really ramping up the Rome 2 Hannibal at the Gates campaign (about 35 turns in ) and perhaps Fallen Enchantress - Legendary Heroes, gifted to me by a real swell feller.
Need to fire up the new Distant Worlds.... haven't played in a loooong time.
More board wargaming goodness with some Unconditional Surrender play.
Just me and the dog home this weekend so hope to get lots of playing in.
Elite:Dangerous - nuff said.
But seriously...there's not a huge amount of content at present and I'm not sure if I'm able to travel outside the current system I'm in. I'm also floundering around with some aspects (what are the unidentified objects?), but the game is good enough for me to keep going back. The immersion level is better than I had expected from the videos
Wolfenstein:New Order - great game so far
F1 2013 - the mighty Spa Francorchamps circuit in Belgium awaits. Lets see if I can get some more points for Team Williams and secure a better offer than Sauber
Distant Worlds:Universe I listened, I heard and I pretty much had the OK from Eric at Matrix Games and Staggerwing (whom I gave my games to) to go ahead and use the coupon. So I'll give this an outing perhaps.
I also should get back to my model kit making. I still haven't finished my Challenger II and the light in the room is at a level where I can get back to it...maybe next week...too much glorified gaming to do.

Yea, that's what the emperor is supposed to do. I'm using the imperial liberation CB on the smaller members, but until now both Austria and Bohemia had 3-4 times my manpower and force limit. I'm also allied to both of them but that's not likely to last very much longer. I want to dismantle the but can't do that as emperor.
Sort of role playing the emperor who didn't want to be emperor.
i forget now, if you march on Austria - does the rest of HRE come with you?

No. When an outside power declares war on an HRE member, the emperor, whoever that is at the time, gets asked to join the war. If he declines, the he loses a good amount of imperial authority, and he gains some just for joining the war. If someone takes over an imperial member, outside powers and member of the HRE, the emperor will get an imperial liberation CB against them.
I do wish the AI would do a better job with liberating members. Seems like if it's non an outside power the AI will usually just sit back and watch the members fight.
@mikeck & Gusington: Have a good weekend, guys! Sounds like it'll be fun.

i was austria as the HRE and spent a huge amount of time policing the HRE - spent an awful lot of time at war without actually improving my own borders, just sorting everyone else out
thats why i moved to Naples for the next game - really need to fire that up again

That's why I decided to play Brandenburg. I really didn't want to be emperor and havering to police the HRE. Austria is one of my favorites to play, but it feels like I'm constantly at war with someone, and most of the time it's not a war of my choice.
I just finished reading The Killer Angels (the book the movie Gettysburg was base on), so I finally started going through the tutorials for Scourge of War: Gettysburg. I also got Distant Worlds Universe installed so I'd like to give that a whirl. And I'm sure I'll sink more time into World of Tanks.

Excellent news.
I've got the urge to go back to Empire Total War, where I had Russia on the verge of a campaign victory until Rome 2 came out. I want to see some up close bayonet action and play one good siege battle where my mortars and heavy arty blast the crap out of somebody's fort. Then I'll be over it.

I will be playing some Empire Total War and WG Red Dragon this weekend. Have a good one folks!
I'm thinking I'll put the new pc together.
bout time - red dragon!!
Red Dragon, and the talk of decks and such, has frightened me away a bit.
how so my little friend?
It just looks overwhelming. How to keep track of everything goong on in Red Dragon, even if the game is slowed down? So many moving parts...
I'm forcing my way through my backlog. Finished up Divinity: Dragon Commander last week. Loved the political stuff, hated the RTS portion.
I plan on a bunch of mindless Nazi zombie shooting as I work my way through Nazi Zombie Army 1 and 2. (Shoot 100 zombies, drink a beer, shoot another 100 zombies, drink another beer....)

shouldve narrowed that down some :-[

youre talking to the man who plays Rome II on easy
Both of you can boldly suck it. The send in a Panthers in the Fog review. Then suck that.
Playing my current Rome 2 campaign on normal/normal since you asked.
Oh and suck it again.

Try to get the "Complete" version - as it has all the expansions, and DLC. It doesn't cost that much more than the other offerings. I got it for our Mac, which was a mistake :idiot2:, as the wife and the kids are permanently on it! :-\
Looks like PBEM of John Tiller's Campaign Series with a buddy down in Texas, and if we get bored of that, some CMRT. Trying to convince him to play some Band of Brothers via VASSAL as well. My boxed version of said game is supposed to be arriving on my doorstep any minute now.
I'm trying hard not to cave in and buy WitP AE while it's on sale...but I'm wavering...
This weekend
Lots of Field of Glory - as competing in the Digital League with my Spartacus Army, plus a couple of friendly matches. All MP these days. The single player AI is quite good, but the MP community is just awesome. There are some really nice members, and we have a good laugh. 8)
I'll restart a DWU campaign, my last failing miserably as I was wiped out by the Shakturi... :'(
Investigating Pandora, and will eventually do a flash review on it, but need to play it for a bit first.
A couple of QBs/a scenario of Combat Mission - probably Red Thunder
There are a few other bits and bobs I'll dabble with if I get time. I keep meaning to start a Parthian Wars scenario for AJE/BOR, but never seem to get round to it.
And I'll follow Gus' example, and have a few beers to see if it improves my game too.... ;) ;D

I might try out some
WitP:AE or
Distant Worlds or who knows. I will certainly start watching "The Longest Day" tonight in honor of those brave men who hit the beaches 70 years ago. Maybe I should also start a WWII game as well.
Distant Worlds: Universe
Flashpoint Campaigns: Red Storm
Diablo 3
Maybe finally spend some time with Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy as well.
I'm also reading Viper Pilot and will probably finish that this weekend. Which is making me want to load up some Strike Fighters. Anyone know/remember if there are SEAD missions in Strike Fighters?
I'm going to try to play some Morrowind, for as long as I can hack it. I have to say it hasn't grabbed like I had hoped, and I fear this will be my last try at getting into this game. If it doesn't stick soon, I may just hang it up for good.
I also installed Wizardry 8, which I got on GoG a while ago. I'm curious to see if it's as good as it's hyped up to be. More and more I'm finding graphics DO make a difference with how much I like a game, regardless of how awesome the gameplay is. Sadly. :tickedoff:

I'm pretty sure there are SEAD missions in Strike Fighters 2 but it depends on which model you are flying. They may be a bit rare, even then. Think it has Shrikes too IIRC, depending on which pack(s) you're using.
