I seem to have finally found a groove in Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes, so, there'll be some of that this weekend. Age of Wonders III if any one sees me online and wants a game. And we'll see what else strikes my fancy.
Hmm.
Come to think of it "My Machine She's A Dud All Stuck In The Mud Somewhere In The Swamps Of Jersey" could be a euphemism... Star, any ideas?
Not alot of gaming for me. I'll be busy watching the 6 Nations Rugby and drinking.
Gaming will take place though and will likely consist of Combat Mission:Black Sea and Fleet Commander:Nimitz
I can't imagine I'll want to play anything else.
I keep looking at all the game icons on my desktop and thinking "What IS wrong with you? You have a shed load of great games here"...and yet I often look and pass on almost all of them.
I have BioShock:Infinite to finish, ArmA III, Splinter Cell:Blacklist, Shadow of Mordor, all the DCS modules, WitE, WitW, OOTP15 (16?), Football Manager 2014, Assetto Corsa, F1 2014, Race Room Experience, Combat Mission FI, Combat Mission Black Sea, Combat Mission Normandy, all DLC
Mental :crazy2:
Finishing a campaign in Battle Academy 2. Then maybe some CoH2 or some Operation Star, or maybe some Panzer Corps. Trying to cure this Eastern Front bug before Total War: Attila, Homeworld and Starships all come out.
Spinning my wheels mostly waiting for the release of Cults And Ladders...err...Chutes And Daggers. Whatever. Anyway, will be checking out the relese version of Sunless Sea and the latest build of Star Ruler 2
Mostly going to be Distant Worlds and Command for me this weekend, with some Heroes of the Storm and Prepar3D. Thinking of finally pulling the trigger on Elite this weekend, in which case my flying time will get cut down.

I'm running on my ancient back up machine. I could play Arma III, Arma II, Various John Tiller games, IL-2: 1946 etc., CMBN, but I think what's likely is To End all Wars (maybe even PBEM) and Il2: 1946 etc.
I know I'm a few years late to the party, but I've finally been bitten by the Total War bug. I've been positively obsessed with the Khartoum & Zulu mod for Napoloen Total War.
I'm playing the Oriental campaign right now as the British. Very fun!
If I can tear myself away from that this weekend, I'll continue my campaign in Making History:The Great War.
I'm fighting a cold so nothing I have to think about too much for me, which is usually the way I play most games. Skyrim is always good or maybe a slow-paced MTW campaign catch-up. Of course it is brutally hard to wipe your nose while fighting a Horker.
I don't usually post in these threads (it's funny how having 2 small children makes you re prioritize between talking about games and playing games!), but in honor of the excellent title thread, I couldn't stay away!
It's mostly Xenonauts for me this weekend, with a little Conclave thrown in as I continue to go through a campaign in slow motion with a couple elementary-school buddies of mine from my Oklahoma days. And maybe Gems of War as a bone to throw to my 4-year old son, now that we finished up our Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes campaign last night...
Easy: War in the West and Combat Mission:Black Sea.
Elite - I'm still on the 70 stop rares run but the ship is filling up with very valuable cargo now and I fear an interdiction or mistake - skipped the beta this time - I'm enjoying vanilla and it'll be ready when it's ready
And I'm having a wargame red dragon Renaissance, coming at it almost like a new game, you know, sitting on the toilet or driving to work wondering how to take down their aa assets or their fighters - last game was a real exchange of casualties and rock, paper, scissors - he had tanks, I moved in Lynx with tow, he brought in flankers, I brought in aa vehicles, he brought infantry - had a blast - planning now to send the sas round the back and take their airfields
CM:RT for me.
Darkest Dungeon
That may be the only definite thing on the menu. I'm so addicted to it right now. :smitten:
If I do any multiplayer, it may be a couple matches of Naval Action or some mindless Running With Rifles pewpewery.
More Pride of Nations and I will try Decision Games D-Day at Omaha computer version.
Hopefully will be able to reconstruct (close enough to never mind) the pre-war organization and initial orders I lost last weekend by not paying attention to how I was saving the game, in Darkest Hour (as Russia in the AAR mod starting just before WW1).
Continuing my first Far Cry 3 campaign. I've been doodling around leveling up my gear rather than my character -- I have at least five skill points I haven't assigned yet because the skills I really want haven't been plot-unlocked yet -- but for those who have played the game, I'm about ready to go to Pirate's Cove.
I have now beaten all forms of the AI on Rivals of Catan, so though I'll keep the game on my phone I'm moving along to learning (or learning better) another strat game. Probably San Juan which I already know how to play but could stand a lot more experience on.
I never did get very far in the Company of Heroes campaign, and I've been feeling rather an itch to try that again; I played the skirmish and mp (with my late pupil) much more, years ago, and never felt like I had any kind of real handle on it compared to the Dawn of War games, despite the family relationship of the game engines.
The FC sandboxing is giving me an increasingly strong urge to go back to play The Saboteur again (a game I beat long ago). A wildly underrated game.
Incidentally, it occurred to me last night while playing FC3 that if someone would do a similar island-sandbox shooter with dinosaurs (perhaps making use of the Jurassic Park ip), they'd have a license to print money. :smitten: :smitten: (Though that reminds me I also own Blood Dragon though I doubt it's like that.) Dino-ish themed multiplayer shooters went through a strong spate recently, but that isn't the same thing.
Bawb post pics of CM:RT so I can feel more gooder about dropping 55.00 on it.

Gus, there are oodles of youtube clips for it. If they don't get yer loins moist, nothing will. Its excellent. I now have to look at getting the other CM games. Hopefully, they have sales now and again. CM Normandy, v3.0 plus the Commonwealth add-on is currently $55, which is around £43. I have to sneak it past Mrs.B somehow.

Nothing puts me off more than videos of Combat Mission videos...they are just too twitchy! The only "moist" areas for me when watching Youtube videos of Combat Mission games is my eyes...begging for vinegar drips!
lol - you mean the zoom in, zoom out, twitch left, zoom in, zoom in, zoom out, zoom in, scroll to other side of map, in, out, in, out, in, in, out, scroll, in, out, back, up, down, zoom, zoom?
ive seen it so often i can only assume its not doing that myself that is lacking in my awesome prowess at strategy games!

That is
exactly what I mean! - at least the zoom shit!
Some are much worse than others, so I agree with JD there, but there are enough decent ones to well convey the flavour of the game.

Now THERE'S a man with some TASTE! O0
CM:RT seems to have some loin moistening potential.
In Russia, loins no get moist unless you spill vodka in lap( in my best Boris Badanov voice). I thought maybe Col. Paulding at Armchair General Mag had a RT tactics video on his site but nothing since his CMFI videos. Some of the youtube videos are very good. Some.
I picked up Deadnaut last night - lovely atmosphere but I don't have a damn clue what I'm doing. I might actually have to read the manual for this one!
Other than that I'm sure I'll continue in Starbound and Pandora: First Contact.
Doug and I are now trying a PzC Sicily '43 smaller beach battle in which we learn Italian coastal defenders are not great warriors and paras had a bad time dropping into mountains.
We're also slogging through the Netherlands in CM:BN/MG. So far, one airborne gunner has taken a LONG shot to the head and there are no other casualties in evidence.
Campaign: Leipzig tournament rolling.
Working a game review...
I am enjoying the ever-loving heck out of Disney Infinity. Don't judge me. They got the feeling of being a flying superhero right and I haven't particularly chased the missions as a result. The Toy Box could be a lot smoother, but the playset (I bought Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy) are well done.
And two radio shows...one more for the internet I think, but the other for broadcast...
And they call it a weekend...
Best,
Jim
"Cyrano"
:/7)
Probably play some War Thunder on my PS4 and PC. I've made myself an Excel table to keep track of how many lions and research points I earn per match to see if I notice any trends.
I've also downloaded Bellum Imperii for Mount & Blade Warband and am enjoying it so far. It is a very tough mod however to make progress in as you're constantly fighting to keep the morale of your group high. Most of the time you're resting in a city's inn to regain tiredness morale drains. Money is hard to come by as well.
I'm gonna try to hook up with MD and/or Bob for some AoWIII action as well. :coolsmiley:
Starting my first game of Phantom Fury on the updated ZunTzu gamebox that I put together last night (new graphics). This is going to be a rough day for my Marines!

Late for the weekend (just came back from a week in the mountains)...want to play the following games:
Worldshift
and
Grand Ages: Rome
Anguille,
I really like Worldshift. I bought on a whim and I've been surprised at how much fun it is.
Unfortunately, I've had to work most of the weekend, but so far it's been:
Call to Power II
Warhammer 40,000 Armageddon
Exodus Wars: Fractured Empire

Exodus Wars: Fractured Empire
How is the release version? The last time I played it, which was only a few months ago, it was far from complete.
Huw,
It's not bad, what there is of it. The part they finished runs fine, and actually has a very interesting game mechanic. Also (at least for me) it's been very stable. That said, there's not a lot of content. There's a campaign - which I haven't touched yet - and three skirmish maps which can be played as either faction. As I recall, one faction has six unit types and the other has seven. There is no artillery or air.
With that in mind, it's quite a bit of fun. It was worth $10. I'm not sure I could justify the purchase at full price.
Heh, well, I got it for free so I certainly can't complain! Thanks Skwerl. I'll give it a try at some point.

Thank you Sir. I may cleanse my gaming palette with some Panzer Corps, but which Battle Academy campaign next? Kharkov or Operation Bagration? I think I would like to play as the Germans next.
Did get aaaallllmost all of my pre-gameclock things done in Darkest Hour AARussia.
Did not get much learned on another iPhone game.
Did get more FC3 done (met Citra, cleared some of the path to the next main mission).
Did not get much of the CoH1 main campaign done, barely past the first mission, though I also started a bit of a parallel campaign from Tales of Honor about a different airborne operation.
Did play through most of the first episode (out of four) of the Jurassic Park interactive movie game. Kind of trivially buggy at first (though I haven't seen those first bugs repeat so far), and it's amazing how much it looks like an Unreal 1.5 engine (which is not a compliment in this day and age :P ). Clearly the writers and designers are fans of the movies, though, and that's good (except when they pander just a bit too much with cute callback parallels). Watched one of the heroes get eaten in a dino fight, which kind of surprised me since up to then it looked like the game was basically no fail, simply a matter of scoring how well you're keeping up with the action.
Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes. The only game I played all weekend. Getting the hang of it.
Well mostly Combat Mission:Black Sea. I also took the time to progress my ARMA III campaign - I'm now at Exit Strategy of the 2nd chapter.
Nothing else...not even Nimitz...sitting there waiting for my attention.
I've not been gaming as much as usual in the past few weeks. Mostly Darkest Dungeon here & there. But I did put in a couple matches in War Thunder and one in Running With Rifles over the weekend. Didn't add up to a lot.
Weird semi-funk I'm in. Should probably go do some tabletop gaming/painting or reading for a long stretch. But I still have an urge to play a few thing right now - just not for very long. ??? Is that gaming apathy?
Spent the weekend reacquainting myself with red dragon, now I've given it a couple of hours I realise the weaknesses in my British deck - I need more infantry support vehicles above the current choppers - more hmgs on wheels, the choppers are too fragile
