Actually, although you can create routes, I only use Train Sim for the driving experience. For actual building routes, I use Trainz Simulator 12, by Auran, a program I've used in all its iterations since it first came out in 1990-something. Its much more flexible and interactive, and there is a huge amount of free content available for it.

I am not even going to look at the steam sale:) To be honest, I often find prices just as cheap or cheaper through other distributors throughout the entire year.....its a lot different nowadays then a few years ago when the sales seemed great.
Speaking of sales, I wonder when we can expect the HUGE $5 off sale that Shrapnel Games put on for their 20 year old games:)

The last one I picked up was FM2015.
Maybe I'm wrong, but versions from recent years don't seem to be much different. They seemed to keep changing the formation setup screen UI from year to year, without much noticeable change in it's effect. Other than to move shit around and switch graphical representations to some kind of circular value bar instead of a straight one..? Plus the largest design complaints remain pretty much the same.
Figured I'll just wait a few years. I don't watch futbol/soccer so the updated rosters aren't such a big deal.
FM is the best looking sports text sim out there. In many areas, it has a better UI than others too. But I get the impression that not much has been changing every year, other than some graphical modifications to make it look like it has. Not like it's a cheap game either. :tickedoff:

Yea a little, like looking at the first pages of the sales and 75% say in library or seeing a game on sale while not signed in and getting excited by the deal only to sign in and realize you already own it. Thank god for that feature though or I would of probably bought some games twice.

Im still tossing up between CMANO and Ultimate general civil war (even though its not on sale theyre around the same price now)
On one hand im curious about the future support of CMANO.

CMANO is a very in-depth game. It
still has some interface issues but there's a huge amount of gaming in there for you to lose months in without having to subscribe to the DLC stuff they are putting out (which appear to be very high quality, at least in presentation). They also seem to update the core game a fair bit.

I got the newly released Planet Coaster from Frontier instead. Good times with themepark building fun. The options are huge with this game and it has Steam Workshop support with already 30.000+ items... scary!

Stars in Shadow. I didn't realize/had forgotten the maps were so damn small. (I mean, seriously -- a "huge" map is a whopping 100 star systems?!? Give me a break.) :buck2:
I mean, I get why not everyone enjoys playing on truly large map sizes (like those offered in
Distant Worlds and
Stellaris). They can be resource hogs where your computer is concerned (even on modern machines), and even with improved tools & mechanics, managing an empire spanning umpteen star systems can be a PITA. I totally understand that. But why not at least offer larger maps as an option to those that want it? 100-star maps (or smaller) are immersion-killers for me; they simply don't feel "epic" enough in scope.

I didn't know about the map sizes Martok. Glad you pointed it out, as I have it in my wish list and was thinking of picking it up at Christmas time. But that small map size is a show killer for me also. Hopefully it's something that will get changed with the final version.

I see. Did they say it's going to stay like that? I imagine that it should be possible to have bigger maps.
I've started a thread in the Steam forums asking about it. I'm not optimistic about the likely response (based on what I've garnered from both there and on the game's own forums), but we'll see.
Time to get down with some Squad action I suppose; hell, its not like I don't have tons of similar games anyway and it pays to have multiple platforms to get my killin' on in case I meet up with folks on the internets who want to play and use teamspeak / discord.
