The troops look too tall, the general scale is strange and the formations a little strange also.
Grand Tactician Napoleonic is what I am looking forward to for napoleonics.
We will see.

Gallipoli released which was very well priced at 17 bucks if your own the other games.  Also includes middle east battles as well, looks good so far.

I think Grand Tactician Napoleon is gonna be the must have game on the horizon for Napolean era fans, looks epic and innovative what they are doing with it.

I agree steel fury is pretty good, I just can't be bothered with the mods in the era of steam workshop.  If the dev put the mods on steam work shop, I'd probably play it.

Tank squad is pretty close, I'd say the AI needs more work.  They are adding new vehicles and a dynamic campaign engine along with an editor, but they are lacking the other theaters that Steel Fury has.

Biggest thing for me is being able to coop all the content in tank squad with my son, which isn't even a possibility with Steel Fury.

Every few years I go back to this game and it never ceases to amaze me how immersive it is. To this day, there is still no tactical combined arms World War II game that comes close to capturing the chaos of this kind of warfare. I'm hoping Tank Squad will eventually come close.

Its old, its janky, it requires hard to find mods, but its totally worth it.

Quote from: Boggit on August 21, 2026, 07:29:41 PMI must say I liked UG ACW. If it ends up very similar I might give it a go. Ultimate General was a good game.

I heard on the grapevine that some of the dev's were from the UG team, but don't know if that's true beyond a rumour. Does anyone have a better idea about it?
I had kinda hoped that was the case. Because Ultimate General American Revolution was SUCH a good game and was cut down in it's prime by being cut loose by their publisher. Have always wanted a Napoleonic version of UG.
I imagine if I had a masterpiece project total war rival with all the trimmings rug pulled when it just needed a little more polish, it would be hard to let go of it. I'd want to do a broken arrow style WARNO rival.
I just hope they do not run into anymore trouble with the art style being too similar.
