I've read the online pitches of Kickstarter/(insert other online funded methods here). But to date I've not bought into any, closest I came to buying in was Xenonauts

Interested to know if other Grogheads support the Kickstart based funding method?

Definitely support it - and xenonauts is one I contributed to.
"you are the rule maker, the dictator, the mini- Stalin, Mao, Hitler, the emperor, generalissimo, the MAN. You may talk the talk and appear to be quite easy going to foster popularity, but to the MAN I say F*CK YOU." And Steve G is F******g rude ? Just another day on the BF forum ... one demented idiots reaction to BF disagreeing about the thickness of the armour on a Tiger II turret mantlet.

I haven't backed any yet, mostly for lack of money but I'd be very careful what I do back anyway.  I would've backed Limit Theory if I'd had money at the time.  I also would've backed FTL if I'd known it would turn out so well.

I backed:
Wasteland 2
Dead State
Xenonauts
The Banner Saga
Legend of Eisenwald
Zpocalypse-Boardgame

Looking at that list I way over estimated my amount of free time.

None....maybe it's my age (61) or the fact I'm retired and on a fixed income so I have to watch my purchases carefully....or maybe I just don't get the whole Kickstarter thing as being anything more than a mirror of investing in 'penny-stocks' on the stock market?  I haven't adequately answered the question for myself as to why should I front the money to a game developer for the promise of some chancy return in some distant time to come?  This is just me, I'm not judging those who do donate nor am I anti-Kickstarter.  It just isn't something I want to participate in.

I am with Tpek..way too many.  I need a new girlfriend more than I need anymore games.
But addiction is a terrible mind warping thing.  Spend my money on heroin, spend it on games?

Suprisingly after writing about so many awesome projects for the GARPA column I have not put down money on many of the projects.  Mostly that is due to lack of funds though.

I have paid for Wasteland 2 and Army Men playing cards

So far only two that were alphafunding but not on kickstarter

Recruits $5 on Desura

Fractured Empire $10 at website but now on Desura

Only because both games interested me, and seemed to be playable enough for me to get enough playtime to equal the expense.

I had two Visa gift cards laying around, a $50 and $25. I used some of each to buy games. I put them on my paypal account and used that to pay for these above. I think I may buy new gift cards in the future to use for paypal.

Well after a bit of digging, it seems I've funded a few.  Time to put a lock on my wallet...

Elite Dangerous
Exodus Wars: Fractured Empires
Kerbal Space Program
Limit Theory
M.O.R.E.
Rawbots
Star Citizen

I like the concept...I just need to see more actually come out. Many seem to whither on the vine no?

So far just Project Eternity from Obsidian.  Was very tempted by Up Front but held back.
