Games That You Love But Suck At

Shogun 2 is probably the best TW game to come out since Medieval 2 and I love it lots. But I suck so bad at it. After 85+ hours of play and 4 or 5 campaigns, I haven't even come close to winning a campaign. I am getting tossed around in my current Fall of the Samurai campaign by every clan on the map and barely holding on to my three provinces.

And you? What games do you love but suck at?

Chivalry I'm not terrible at it but I'm not great either. I usually get around a 1:1 - 1.5:1 K/D ratio which is kinda sucky but I have fun doing it.

DCS A-10C Warthog.

(OK, I don't love it but I want to. I watch videos of guys who really know how to fly it and I want to be able to do that. So why can't I even get my GBUs to hit accurately?)

Look at this video. It's freaking awesome! It would take me 10 minutes just to set up for a single Maverick launch I'd I'd likely still miss. I wonder how long it took these guys to get as proficient as they are?

I suck at any twitch game including most space ship driver games which i love.
There is this other game where you talk with women and sometimes after a while they
might sleep with you. I suck at that one.

Call of Duty. While I can hold my own in more tactical games like Battlefield 3, I just don't have the mad reflexes to wrack up the kills in such a fast shooter as CoD. I love MW3 and BlOps 2, but I always wind up near the bottom of the rankings. >:(

Civ IV BTS on any level above Prince. I still don't win often on Prince, but I've never been to the Victory Conditions for any game on Monarch yet.

Most FPSs. I am ok but can never really excel. I enjoy them especially playing MP with friends but most of the time I am just cannon fodder.

Frozen Synapse - want to love it, but im ****

MW3 - cant keep up with it, i always seem to be that 0.000025 seconds slower to the trigger than anyone else i run straight into at a corner. Was great at BFBC2 for some reason - since then its all gone sadly down hill

Sometimes CMBN, some games it all works out brilliantly and i appear to be some kind of online General of Awesomeness - sometimes, against one particulary opponent it all collapses - he kicks my ass and i have to surrender in shame

Battle of the Bulge on the iPad. I'm in love with the idea of a WWII board wargame that involves the Bulge, but playing the damn thing is so frustrating, the area activation and movement is so limiting to any "operational" manoeuvre and you need to know the map and the explicit rules throughout the time frame, even the random time based turn chunks serve to frustrate.

I was so enthusiastic about the game, but ultimately it's like playing war in a straight-jacket and if you don't take in the specifics of the ruleset OCD fashion, then there's no real way to shine in the game. It just makes me hanker after a good PC based chit shuffler, where combat and tactics play more to higher thinking and less about nit-picking special rules. Shame really.

Still, Zulus on the Ramparts is out on the iOS now, and I have plenty of "normal" chit shufflers to play on the Android for those couch General moments.

Oh I'd have to second undercovergeek's sentiments here also. WEGO tactical planning down at the squad level always seems to bad for me. Turn based operational seems to be the place I'm most comfortable.

I truly suck at chess.

I've gotten sucked into Elder Scrolls Oblivion of late. And god am I bad at it. My experience is one of constant wonderment at how deep and detailed the game world is, and then getting pwned by bandits and anyone who can wield spells. I really want to spend time with it, but I doubt I will ever get far because of the basic limitation: i am awful at combat.

Not sure this is one for mouse & keyboard. May have to finally take the plunge of getting a gamepad.

Combat Mission Beyond Normandy...I seem to really be struggling with this one. No matter how cautiously I proceed, I always manage to get my formations pinned down and chewed up.

Has to be flight sims like the DCS Blackshark and A-10 games. You just have to invest so much time in learning how to play these games, and in Blackshark the thing is difficult as hell to fly to boot.
Think the last semi advanced flight sim that I was actually decent at was Janes F-15. Had a great time bombing Tehran and Karg Island.

Im best at World Of Tanks being ranked in the top 3500 on the North American server.
