Rogue's Tale

Rogue's Tale is a new (and free!) roguelike that was recently released. 

I'm enjoying the gameplay, although it's one of the more difficult roguelikes I've experienced, at least in starting off with each new character.  That's saying a lot regarding roguelikes! 

My only other complaints would be that the dungeon levels are pretty small and each character session is rather fast.  So fast that I don't get terribly invested in my character before he dies young.  I think this one is good, but could be a lot better if the play session, and general size/length were to be expanded.

Hmmm...doesn't look like it'll be free forever and he's trying to get it on Steam, but he's giving out licenses to anyone who asks.  Weird.

After reading up on the "free key" deal, on his site's front page, it says that he wants you to defeat the king (the end boss?) in order to get it.  So I'm a bit confused as to what the limits are on the free version because I've certainly not done anything other than die many times over within the first few levels.  There's some mention of it being limited to Level 10 (as opposed to the full 20) until being unlocked but I'm clueless. 

I did upvote it since I like the style, the tileset, etc.  It feels more like a small bite-sized kinda roguelike, however, and anything shorter than Dungeon Crawl: Stone Soup is too short IMO.
