Too many games this month.  I pre-ordered Sim City.
AMRA 3 Alpha is also tempting but I guess I'll wait for the full game.

Wow...thanks for the heads up, had no idea ARMA 3 was going to have a paid alpha.....this is the model I think all game companies should move towards....let your customers decide if they want to jump in early.  Franchise Hockey Manager (career based hockey sim from the makers of Out of the Park Baseball) is also starting their paid alpha/beta testing starting this Monday.  I for sure will be picking up FHM and very likely Arma 3.

Deadskin

The game plays like a blend of Left 4 Dead and CoDs zombie mode, having not played either of the sniper elite games that is what it feels like to me. The single player has you alone unlike in L4D where you have bots of the other characters with you. I haven't tried co-op yet and I only played about half of the first single player mission.

Steelgrave

I bought it and played for maybe an hour and a half. Meh......easy to understand controls and objectives, but it's on a track, like going through a fun house carnival ride where the same thing pops out at you. Left 4 Dead funnels you towards choke points but it's not as obvious a ride as this one. Graphics are decent and the game ran smoothly for me. A decent time killer when you really don't want to play anything deep, like reading the Sunday comics, and there is some entertainment value here. But certainly not a "must-buy" under any circumstances.

Thanks. Nothing beats a great group in L4D. This sounds like a pass.

Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

^Keep in mind that I was playing the solo game. I have no idea if the group game is any different. But I honestly can't see it being better than L4D.

Speaking to Deadites, be sure and check out some of the Steam Workshop stuff. Besides new scenarios, they have some nifty new skins (and some really stupid ones too) and weapons. In my game, Francis now wears a Sons of Anarchy cut and Zoey looks like she left a rave at 4am only to discover the Zombie Apocalypse had arrived. Just chrome, but chrome is good.

I've played this for about an hour solo on easy setting and it's challenging enough with swarms of zombies and skeletons. The graphics, sound, and controls are good. I like the adjustable "slo-mo" spinning bullet. I don't multiplay but an initial review says that's where it's at.

I do get frustrated at running out of ammo at the last minute but searching select corpses can yield more. Maybe acquiring this $15 game should not be dismissed so quickly, especially for multiplay.

A 6.0 game rating for this from Gamespot. Multi-play as mentioned better than solo.

I imagine if a group is tired of playing L4D2 they could try this.

In solo play one would really have to enjoy the slow mo bullet cam and skull smashing hits to get the most out of the repetitive play. While linear, the solo play is quite challenging. Splattering the zombies and skeletons with an SMG (U.S., German, Russian...doesn't matter) isn't too bad either. Just make sure you keep the SMG's fed or you'll run out of ammo at the worst possible moment.

In don't like L4D because it is fast paced and cartoony. I so far I find DayZ to be my preferred zombie game.
