In theory, I guess there is potential there...but that video quickly put me to sleep, particularly the uninspired combat.

It doesn't look bad.... for an Alpha (which it seems to be).  Pretty much the old Fallout 1 & 2 style combat system, so hopefully it'll hold up once they got all the stuff ironed out.

This is one of the indie titles that is taking quite a long time in development, however.  So it makes you wonder just how long they'll spend on it before an official release.

I've got faith  :)  I was one of their early supporters who begged them to go the Kickstarter route, then was one of the early sign-ups. This is definitely an Alpha version, but they've come a really long way since it was essentially a garage product/labor of love with zero financial backing before Kickstarter. They are shooting for a Dec 2013 release, so it's not like they are rushing things so far.

I was thinking the same thing; that it reminded me a lot of the Fallout 1-2 games....if this new game has as deep a story to it, well, it could be a good one.

^They do some unique things, like not giving experience for zombie kills, but rather for meeting goals and scavenging. The dynamics of your group are important, as people may leave or join you based on the decisions you make, how supplied you are, your leadership type, etc.... Also, rival groups may prove to be your most dangerous enemy in this world, kind of like what we are seeing in this season's Walking Dead. If they pull all this off, it's going to be a great game. For now, I'm simply excited for the potential.

And zombies. I love zombies.

I think this Classic Fallout style of RPG is where a zombie game would really shine.  I'm surprised there hasn't been more of them.  Much of the zombie junk is generic shooter crap or bad/cheap indie platformer noise.

Then again, the two RPG-ish ones like this seem to be crawling ahead at a snail's pace.

Yep - totally agree with that ... a proper zombie survuval game in the walking dead mode would be a really good concept. People keep moaning about the amount of zombies - but I cant think of a good one that does what a zombie game should be about.

Just another day on the BF forum ... one demented idiots reaction to BF disagreeing about the thickness of the armour on a Tiger II turret mantlet.
