@Wallysworld:  Could you give a brief run-down of your system's specs?  I'm in the market for a new rig and am wondering just what it takes to play this game on Very High settings.

Nothing special as it's three and a half year old machine with just a newer video card:

i7-920 at 4 Ghz
12 GB RAM
GTX 660 Ti 2 GB video card
Windows 7 64-bit

Here's good description of the new radio icon that each unit will display depending on the situation:http://graviteam.com/forum/index.php?topic=10925.msg30811#msg30811

^Thanks -- glad to see it doesn't take a supercomputer to get high-level performance, although your system is definitely no slouch --

@Budd:  thanks for all the explanations -- I am *amazed* that you can play this game with an integrated graphics card.  I have a gaming laptop with SLI gtx 285m's that starts to struggle on Medium-High settings.  (Granted it's over 3 years old now, so not 'top of the line,' but a powerful laptop nonetheless that has trouble with APOS's eye candy).

Well over at graviteam Andrey was surprised i could run it. I have to re-balance after every patch. I have a second generation core I3 @ 2.2 with 8 gigs of ram and an HD3000 integrated video card with only 64 dedicated ram and up too 1.8 gigs of memory available for graphics. I've checked while playing and the most graphic ram i've seen it use is just under 1 gig. I get FPS in range from 10-25, I haven't noticed any stutter or massive slowdown and I have gotten pretty good at messing with the settings to get a balance between play and look. I tried the demo first to make sure i could run it at an acceptable level. I play with the limited battle radius setting and turn on the FPS monitor and test different video settings to tweak it.

An FYI that all of the DLC at Gamersgate have been updated to reflect the March 2013 patch changes. You'll have to download the install files from GG.

Is the update cumulative or do you need to install Last Year's update if you don't have it?

Good Quest. I do exactly as Wally said with the Matrix version - updating Mar13 core - but APOS won't run so there's no updater. Do we need Aug 12?

OK, a miracle happened and I got updated by applying Aug_12 and then Mar_13. I have the base Matrix game. What add-ons do I need? I have Sokolov and Kharkov in the campaign list.

I haven't bought it either.

I figure.. the way Op Star runs on my pc, I shouldn't bother.   Damn thing is rather doggish even if I adjust some of the usual culprit settings.
