Far Cry 3 and my PC are not getting along.  The game had crashed on me 8-10 times already.  One was bad enough to require a hard restart.  The others allow me to CTRL-ALT-DEL back to desktop but I still end up rebooting anyway because the graphics driver acts screwy after the crash.

I'm still not sure what to think of the game.  I like the open nature of it but I really dislike all the console conceits with everything on the map, blinking glowy plants and loot boxes and the ability to see hostiles/critters through terrain.  I think I'll try some of the realism mods to see if it makes it a bit more fun for me.

Kerbal Space Program: Bought it on Steam the other day. Not sure why I didn't buy it earlier. Had fun doing the launch and orbit tutorials. Going to start an actual game tonight and see how many rockets I blow up before I am actually able to get something into orbit.

Getting into space is the easy part.  Landing is where it gets tricky.  Especially when it comes to maximizing fuel-vs-weight for those long trips, as it's a tough balancing trick to get enough of the former  :D

Been in the mood for something new ever since I was sick a few weeks ago. Skyrim just doesn't seem to be holding my attention like it was. Thinking of either getting King of Dragon Pass from GOG or Steam and Iron. Been looking at both for awhile but can't really decide if I want to get either of them.

KoDP is the cheaper one, and certainly one of the most unique strategy games out there.  But I've spent a good amount of time with Steam & Iron too.. and the campaign add-on will be arriving shortly.  ;D  If you have any interest in either, I suggest getting them both at some point!

Just started the first scenario of the Soviet Invasion campaign of Combat Mission: Afghanistan. I think this is my favorite version of CM.

I'm sort of keen to get this one, but got the impression it was a bit light on scenarios both supplied and user made. Hopefully you'll correct me, as I love CM and just need to get over this issue.

I don't think it has any less scenarios that the rest of the CM2 lineup.  Besides you know of another game that models the tactical level of the Russian involvement of Afghanistan like Battlefront's CM?  (I know Tiller has Soviet-Afghan War)

With all the March Madness  basketball on and work I am not sure how much gaming I'll get in.  If I do it will be Far Cry 3 and StarCraft II, perhaps even some boardgaming.

ARMAIII and Red Winter and possibly some attempt at refueling some ships and spotting some U-boats in PQ-17.  The first convoy is of course 'Dervish' and no 'PQ' bestowed yet from some random operations room personage named Philip Quintillian (yes, that Quintillian -- the grammarian, right?) or something.

In Red Winter, yes, even as we speak, the bonfires are warming hundreds of irate Russians while the Finns sharpen their hunting knives as night falls.  Could be a very bloody night.

Well, it was all pretty bloody.  I realize I messed up some crucial stuff and as a result the Russians never really got rolling on Day1 so they were in pretty good positions (since they hadn't gotten very far) when the Finns hit them on the first night.

PQ-17 was more interesting.  I've run two early convoys through the winter darkness and with all the ice and bad weather and near 24-hour darkness, there have only been some bloodless encounters between the RN and the Luftwaffe and the KM managed to spot and avoid some RN subs.
