I saw the article on this upcoming F2P tactical strat game at Wargamer.

It's piqued my interest after gawking at the screenshots there. The one thing that looked kinda scary was the "tap to.." tip, so I'm guessing this is multi-platform? It obviously has persistent squad characters you can level up and equip to some extent so having the extra RPG stuff sounds great. Anyone know if it has play against both AI and head-to-head matches? I've not really heard anything about it until now.

Thanks for the heads up, that sounds really good. Ever since I started playing door kickers last week I have had the strong desire to play these type of games. In fact I went out and purchased swat 4 which seems to be an excellent cqb game in its own right. If this does have single player and doesn't require a touch screen monitor, day one purchase for me.

Duh...I just realized this appears to be an iOS mobile device game....touch screen makes sense now:)

Yep, disappointed as well...however, if the right price and works well, I would still give it a go on my iPad.

May I suggest Frozen Synapse? It's probably the best turn-based tactical squad game I've ever played.

I thought SWAT 4 was a blast, and I haven't been into shooters much in a very long time. It's probably showing it's age these days, but the CQB tricks in it certainly gives it a more cerebral element.

I keep hearing how Frozen Synapse is excellent, but the bright-ass neon colors look like they would just burn my retinas.

I'll second this recommendation. Also, one buy gets you two game keys so you can ship a copy off to a friend.

I haven't played this for quite awhile, now that I think about it. ;D

Heh, I know the feeling. I had a quick go recently for the first time in months and just couldn't remember the "rules", like do you need to crouch behind half-height cover, does time spent standing still make you more likely to hit, etc. They also seem to have added some features since I last played, too.

I actually do own this one....got it when it first came out....but strangely have never installed and played:) Will likely fire it up at some point.
