It was a stroke.  Nothing else could have killed her.  She was a rarity among politicians.  She knew what she was doing.  She had a vision and she followed
it and managed to bring her countrymen along.  Not everyone loved her but at the very least she was doing something. For a while it worked.
How many world leaders were portrayed in a newspaper headline wearing an eyepatch and being proclaimed a pirate?

She was an inspiring person. A friend of mine went to see her speak in Vancouver when she was old, doing the talk circuits. He said she was still very impressive in person (in her 80s?).

Uh yeah, she was also the woman who stopped milk for schoolchildren, privatised everything in sight, and brought such tremendous ruin on the housing market that nobody can afford to buy a house any more without help from elsewhere.

She was a vile, poisonous bitch.  I'm not gloating that she's dead - the day for gloating was when she was forced out of office (and gloat I did) - but I'm shedding no fucking tears here.
