Well I finally got my account back and had a quick look in the game.  To be completely honest, at first glance it doesn't look like anything's changed!  The interface is still a nightmare; if you want to select a worker unit, for example, you have to find it and click on it.  You can't just click on its icon on the panel because doing so will select all worker units.  Yes, you read that correctly.

I uploaded some screenshots to my Steam profile if you want a look.  I'll try and get some combat in later and report on it; that is the meat of the game, after all.  I'm happy to answer specific questions too.

I'm sorry to say but this game might be pay to win; you can buy elite units (and even normal units) in the online shop.  I'm not sure if there are any other considerations but that certainly sounds like pay to win to me.

Just saw this on Steam.  Man, those forums can be nuggets of gold sometimes:

"The game is like Battle for Middle Earth had a baby with Stronghold and called it Dawn of Fantasy. Sadly, I must inform you Stronghold was drinking and smoking cigarettes during pregnancy."  ;D

I swear that made me laugh for about 30 seconds.

Anyway, I'm eyeballing this.  I just can't decide if I'll like it or not.
