  It was further noted that this style of bomb has been known to be used in places such as: Pakistan, Afghanistan, and India.  We can only assume, as to the profile of the type of group that would use this kind of bomb in those countries.

So either it is the same basic group of individuals, promoting the same basic cause; or it is another group using the same bomb design.

...from the bomb design, i bet its either:

a single psycho nut-job type, who just has grown to hate all normal people and the society from the guts, who cant stand to see others enjoying 'family&friends fun stuff', cause he has none (those Columbine, Joker-impersonating, amok-type of individual)

or a single, homegrown, self-radicalized over the internet/media, Jihadist... who has no more ties to any official Jihadist-groups or structure then watching their propaganda shit. 

he/she sure will be on one of the countless videos/pictures carrying the specific bag(s) around first, and later seen without them.
(so there might be many suspects to check if these specific bag(s) were very common)

From the reports there were several bombs. They weren't light. I don't see one guy doing this by himself.

I will say they must have some pretty cool software. My guess is that all the images taken by people and sent to the cops will be filtered for people carrying bags and then without them. I'm not sure how I'd even start to program for that kind of logic, but I'd bet a dollar they've got it. We'll catch the bastards soon enough.

I only heard about two real bombs finally, (but i dunno how many kettles in one bag, i thought just one 6 liter kettle? ) in German news, the others reported were the usual media chatter until the first dust has settled, and the authorities had given news-conferences. AFAIK its only one kettle found, and its not known (at least to the public) what 'container' the secound bomb had inside.

Multiple news outlets are now reporting an arrest is "imminent" and the suspect will be in front of a judge shortly!

Probable looting after the bombing.  Some people just suck.  Hopefully the people caught on camera were actually grabbing items to help the injured....

For good or ill (good in this case) many public spaces are under camera watch. Between CCTV and folks just taking videos and snapshot there was probably a LOT of photographic evidence just waiting to be found. According to CNN it was a CCTV camera at a local department store that provided the key piece they were looking for.

So, yes, if you don't realize you may be on candid camera in a public place, you are something of an idiot.

The TV is on downstairs so I'm not paying too close attention, but I think they're now backing off of stories that someone is in custody.

However, apparently the reports of an image of a suspect are confirmed. It shouldn't be too much longer before they nail this guy.

Yes, and a perfect example of how the 4th Amendment does apply. There's plenty of probable cause to ask for all that video evidence and all the cell phone evidence.

If London has as many cameras as they seem to have on the 'cops and robbers' tv shows they should have a big advantage. Something other cities should follow.

BTW the BBC series Life on Mars is awesome.

They should try him in Salem old school, its not far away.
