Found a live stream of a police scanner. It just went out that the suspect at large is suspected of being the 'guy in the white hat' in the FBI Marathon photos. Suspected of having an assault rifle and explosives, at the very least.

Users on reddit are crowdsleuthing to find the suspects and are apparently doing a pretty good job of it.

they're going door-to-door through the Boston 'burbs and have the whole area locked down.  Mass transit is closed down to make sure no one can get through.  The whole freakin' city is on alert right now - telling people to stay off the streets, closed shops, checking every car, got a whole 20-block radius shut down

I just heard a report that the two bombers are brothers from Chechnya. Also, there seems to be quite a bit of activity around a particular brick building in Watertown, MA.

Yep. The dead brother (Black Hat) had both gunshot wounds and blast burns. He also had explosives on him so the worry with White Hat (a most unfitting moniker if ever there was one) is that he may have a suicide vest as well as some kind of semi-auto rifle.

Watertown and the surrounding towns are on lockdown.  My parents and other relatives live in the area and they all told me that they must stay indoors.  Businesses in the area will be closed as well until suspect 2 is stopped.

Well Islam is the main religion in Chechnya, so I'd say that Al-Qaeda is more than a strong possibility...

Bewteen this incident and the school massacre that took place a few years back empathy for their struggle against the Russians must have nearly faded.
