^Yeah, the character named Elizabeth in game is very important to the story, even more than you think just by reading the cover on the game box.  I was moved last night upon completing the story.

OK I finally bought the game this last weekend during the sale for $14.  Frankly I would have been disappointed if I'd paid full price.

The story was pretty forced IMO the first 1/2 of the game.  Hey these guys are evil racists for about 6 hours.  I found the Founding Fathers usage pretty forced honestly.  I think the same concept could have been made with a little effort to create a unique background story with a fictional group of founders.  I didn't really like being forced to side against them because there was no alternative, which is why when some asshole was like "I'm not one of them.  I'm a progressive."  I just shot the fucker, because I was tired of being forced through the storyline.  When the Vox finally appeared as a group and the good/bad sides finally blended into to two twisted sick groups the story actually got interesting.  The ending was I must admit pretty fantastic.

The combat was at best decent and honestly got repetitive.   Here's a group of 4 or 5 guys.  Kill them.  Here's another group of 4 or 5 guys.  The last fight and the mother fight were the only challenge in the game.  Frankly the weapon and power choices really didn't make any difference what you used so long as you had ammo and whatever the power juice was called. 

Anyway it was a decent game, but no way did it deserve a 100 that many reviewers gave it on metacritic.  A solid 80 IMHO.  Well in the end I finished it in about 12 hours and I'm glad I did because the last 10 minutes or so were really great, but I doubt I'll play it again.  It just wasn't that good I'd want to endure the mundane fights and I already know how it ends so there's no surprises left to be had.

Honestly I think if the weapon and power choice actually mattered and the combat was more varied and challenging; I'd have loved it more.  The story itself evolved enough to be interesting, but seriously you knew every new room or road you enter would have 4 or 5 poorly performing AI enemies that you could just as easily kill with a pistol, machine gun, shot gun at any range.
