I am so old that when I was a kid we didn't have Saturdays. We just went straight Sunday. Been playing the Sicilian Vespers mod for M2TW in order to get my M2TW fix in and now I'm pretty much over it so it's back to Shogun 2 or CMBN.

Civ 4 Colonization was not so stupendous...I had high hopes for that game :(

I'd also have doubts as to whether a Civ4 mod would be as specialized and not just Civ4 with Revolutionary War window dressing.  Myself.. I'd just fire up AGEOD's BOA2 if I were in such a period mood.

My boys are playing World of Tanks this morning.. I may have to download that give it a shot and join them tonight (I know, I missed that party, but it looks like fun)..

Other than that, probably some DCS A-10 Warthog, Iron Front on SimHQ Saturday, maybe some Warlock.

It's a great little mod. Lots of new factions, 4 different start dates with the factions adjusted, lots of new units and buildings. Just one annoying part for me is every settlement you lay seige to, spawns extra units automatically. A town has 11 units so you attack with a general and maybe 12 or 13 units and you have to build rams and such so the next turn your ready to assault and the town now has a full 20 unit garrison. I understand the reason is to make the AI more of a challenge and it does make a degree of sense, if your town was under seige you'd put everybody on the walls but some of the spawnd units are better than mine, even heavy cav. It just feels like a cheat instead of a part of the game. Every settlement so far does this-- version 3.3. Still it's a lot of fun, just bugs me. You can learn alot about the history of factions also. Lots of detail.

I will be doing my World of Tanks dailies for a few hours. I haven't bought any new games for awhile, so I will be playing some oldies but goodies.

One of them might be Civilization IV: Colonization. Have you guys tried the Authentic Colonization Mod? It's the best mod I've found for the game so far.

Let us know how that goes. I keep wanting to get Steel Wolves but the time required to play always stops me... do you have somewhere cat/kid safe to leave it setup for long periods?

I'm actually going to set it up on my dining room table. My cat doesn't get up there, and I currently don't have a girlfriend to complain about it.

Nice score Kushan. Steel Wolves doesn't come cheap and requires a massive time investment to play. I'd love to hear your impressions some time as I really enjoy Silent War am looking for an excuse...  ::)

I blame whoever wrote the GARPA article on Breaking the Chains a few weeks ago. I've been looking for a naval wargame that could be played solo for a while, and they happened to catch me when I had some extra money from taxes/bonus/overtime. I preordered that and bought Steel Wolves as an impulse at the same time. I was actually planning to do an AAR of me learning the game. I'm really looking forward to diving into it. Its been a long time since I've done any board gaming.
