Boston Marathon Bombing Thread

Earlier today, I got in the car to drop my wife off and she had the radio turned to the stupid Diane Rehm show, which I hate with a passion. Moments into the drive, a caller was lamenting how our attitudes and lack of understanding of other cultures leads to things like what happened in Boston. Of course, the comment went unchallenged by Rehm or her guest, another apologist suck-up "isn't America awful" moron. Man, I lost it! I slammed off the radio and went into a loud rant that left my wife open-mouthed. I'm pretty sure NPR won't be playing next time I drive with her.

Damn....I mean, these folks came to America to build a better life, and somehow it's always our fault when they blow us up. I think, given the chance, I could have buried that caller up to her liberal-babbling neck in dirt and beat her about the head with the shovel. And I'm usually in such a good mood.....

Yeah, I read an article earlier....which of course, I can't find now....that painted the parents as having their heads in the sand for years regarding their oldest son. He went from zero to radical in no time at all, alienating friends and family members....except for his parents and siblings, who turned a blind eye towards the changes in him. I'm sure this will all be analyzed to death before it's all said and done. I'm glad that they captured the kid alive so at least some questions may be answered in time.

He went from zero to radical in no time at all, alienating friends and family members....except for his parents and siblings, who turned a blind eye towards the changes in him. I'm sure this will all be analyzed to death before it's all said and done. I'm glad that they captured the kid alive so at least some questions may be answered in time.

There was an interview with the mother on CNN tonight in which she blamed everything on a conspiracy against Muslims and insists that her sons were framed. Then she screamed allah akbar into the phone at which point I cursed CNN for broadcasting this crap and shut the tv off.

Andrew Kitzenberg lives on the street where the shootout between the Boston bombings suspects and the police took place early Friday morning. As the events unfolded, he tweeted moment-by-moment updates that became must-reads. Now there are photos to go with the feed.

Kitzenberg had also taken photos with his iPhone from the bedroom window on the third floor of his Watertown, Mass., home, where he witnessed the violent scene. The images of his eyewitness account, which are going viral, are blurry, scary and surreal.

During Friday's intense manhunt for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in Watertown, Mass., when the city of Boston was on lockdown, a Brookline police officer delivered milk to a family with a baby.

And like many random acts of kindness seen in the wake the marathon bombings, the photo—posted to Facebook by the family—went viral, thanks in part to a tweet from the Boston Police Department:

    BPD Officer delivers milk to a family with young children in Watertown during the lockdown.

Kevin Wells, the father, took the photo of the officer, John Bradley, as he arrived carrying two gallons of milk for Holden, Wells' 17-month-old son.

During the lockdown, the boy's grandmother, who was visiting from Colorado, left the house to ask the officer if he could grab some milk for the young couple.

"It just meant the world that he literally went out and got two gallons of milk," McKenzie Wells, the boy's mother, told Today.com. "We wanted to pay him, but he wouldn't take money from us. He was just so generous."
