What is most apalling is the marketing moves associated with the game. There are a bunch of false accounts being created to either hype the game or attack detractors, really trashy and unethical stuff.

I'm having fun with it.

Nothing crazy great about it, but it's not horrible.

Predictable? Sure.

But it's fun. Maybe it's the fact that I just like Star Trek. It did take me an hour or two to get into it, but now I really look forward to playing it.

Call of Duty? Not even close.

But if you like the setting there's nothing terribly wrong with it. I still have issues with the UI but they can be overcome.

It's not terrible but nothing really good about it either.
A very silly corridor third-person shooter, with some Co-Op elements and limited depth.
All set in a the Reboot-Trek universe.

EDIT: A 2.5GB patch was just released. And with no patch notes whatsoever.
So, 10 more DLCs now? :P

I have never denied my nerdliness. When I was in elementary school I was mocking up the Enterprise's bridge in my basement. Yes, that meant copying the layout of the control panels onto cardboard from my Technical Manual and inviting my friends over to crew the ship with me. It would be impossible for me to be anything other than a Star Trek geek.



The biggest problem with the game (IMHO) is that the development dollars went into paying the actors from the reboot to use their likeness and voices in the game.

I don't know how much money it costs to get everyone from the movie to do the voices, but I'd have been just as happy with no-name actors and new characters and taking that money to develop a game less dependent on rails.

That said, it's not a bad game. It's just not great. All I wanted is for the game to be fun. For me, it is.

That doesn't make it sound like it's worth £40. And I was just going to post on here and ask - are the graphics just bad because of the videos, or are they that bad in game? The videos I saw on Steam made the game look like a 2005 game
