Though I read incessantly, I rarely post here as I prefer to keep reading rathar than writing. I'll make an exception for The Last Battle by Stephen Harding. Extremely well-written, this small book deals with American ad German regulars teaming up against the SS to save VIP French POWs. 'Nuff said!

Sorry for the dumb question, but I gotta ask it:  Is this an account of a real battle??  It actually happened?

The battle falls into the "Strange but true" category. Best WW II book I've read in months.
