HPS just released update 1.01 for War Over The Mideast.

- Numerous feature and interface changes as a result of military
development.

Thats some effusive changes file ....

Still - no one can say Tiller doesnt support his games.

I gave up on this some time ago. I liked it but it fell short. I can't be anymore specific than that - just that I remember wishing there was something else...and apparently this is the more improved version over Wings over Vietnam.

I can't find it in my disc box, so it's either up the loft or I might have given it away to Wodin...I remember giving him a game...can't remember which one though.

It wasn't a bad game by all accounts...

War Over the Mideast is by far the better of the two. To say the change file is effusive may be a bit of an understatement - it is very extensive.

If you really, really want to get in the air war stuff, this is the game. Chris at NWS has it (disc version) for $29.99

The latest changes to mid east are 1.01 - the two lines - the 1.0 changes - which accounts for 99% of the text file have been in the game since it was released.

Perosnally I really liked both games and would like to know what exactly the ...

My bad - I thought that all the changes listed were 1.01 changes. They are indeed 1.0 and 1.01 changes. I should read the whole thing instead of skipping to the good stuff. :-[

War over the Mideast was great. IMHO what was "missing" was the tutorial to make you a master air commander. The game gave you all the tools you needed to simulate modern air combat. What was missing was the fact that I didn't have 20 years of experience in the Air Force learning how to make paste out of an enemy's air defenses.

I really liked it, but I didn't invest the time to get extremely good at the game.

War Over The Mideast need to have the map bumped out just a bit further to the east. Then it needed some UAV strike fighters to simulate Israel taking out Iranian nuke facilities. Maybe someone will do a mod for that.
