I may check out the "get them dinner, a bath and in bed by myself" DLC

If you secure all of the objectives in the 'Kids' Dinner, Bath, &Bed' module go for the bonus objectives of 'clean kitchen and bath'. Who know, you may unlock the next round of DLC to play later tonight...  ;)

I'm playing "blow up balloons", "10 screaming kids", "birthday party" bundle pack DLC.

Good luck with that one.  From what I've read on the online forums, this particular DLC is very very difficult. 

You may even end up quitting the level in frustration.  My suggestion is don't quit though.  Use a hack like I did.  What you do is crawl into corner after you "blow up balloons" but make sure you've equipped your character with "good book" (something like World War Z should do) and then stay silent while you read.  The "10 screaming kids" may not notice you and you will survive the level.

I'm guessing that Household6 doesn't play that game.

I did the same DLC, but with water guns, a slip and slide, and various other water-themed activities, all cleverly designed to get children nice and muddy before the come inside my house (with the wonderful cream couches and designer carpet) to get various stain-inducing colored food and kool-aid.

Yep, a real joy alright.   ::)

Still a complete failure in the PC gaming department. But DID get in some board gaming! More Sentinels of the Multiverse, pulled out Claustrophobia for the first time in awhile, and Kemet was played 3 times in a row. So far, Kemet is easily my board game of the year. So damn good.

Well...Band of Heroes AAR to complete. I would also like to continue my OOTP 13 season and my Shogun 2 campaign - which isn't going all that great.

Seemingly very few people want to trade with me, I have a lack of food and therefore rebellions (I only have 4 regions!)

I was asked to attack a sole island which belonged to a clan. I can't remember the name but it was the only region the clan had and they were marked as easy...sent a big army there without scouting - bad news - they had a bigger army.

Next time sent my experienced ninja - he was caught!

So I have built a huge army to go and take this island (it's got gold!) but I'm waiting for my ninja to be available again...then wait some turns to get him to the docks - then wait some turns to get my ship with him on board to the island - it's all sapping my money!

I raise taxes, I get unrest. I buy more men to quell rebellions and I use more money. I lower taxes to keep the people happy and I go into minus tax returns...it's very, very difficult to balance!

I'm going to gradually cut down on the FOTS time.  I had a gruesome island battle myself.  I brought a big but not particularly good army and it took two bloody assaults to take the fortress despite having naval gun support.  Nice battles though.

Maybe The Burning Blue will turn up and I'll switch to that.  Meanwhile, I got two very old and musty copies of Invasion: Norway.  It's a game from 1995 and would have profitted from some kind of card mechanics.  I guess I got it to do the land campaign if PQ-17's Norway 1940 expansion ever comes out.  So with heaps of musty or unpopular boardgames around I'll probably escape to FOTS and/or CLOD and/or RO2 and/or ARMAIII and/or CKII.  Good thing I have a weekend for all that.

As usual, I didn't quite do as I expected.  I played CKII mostly.

I was gone all weekend (Syttende Mai festival in my mom's hometown, plus the usual visiting friends & family while I was down there), so no gaming for me.  Had a good time, though! 


I did attempt to get into both Endless Space and StarDrive last night, but just wasn't feeling it.  Think I may be a little burned out on 4x titles at the moment (as weird as that is for me).  ???  I may play some Shogun 2 today instead.  (That, or Imperialism 2...)

There have been quite a few updates.  I've only played some short starts on a random 'skirmish' map and haven't yet noticed any major issues as of last week.
