i think its based on the board game - settlers of catan (?) or something

try the demo - its very intriguing and i like you can track your ancestors and achievements and head for nobility and higher purposes

How's everyone digging Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes?

I'm chomping at the bit to buy this game but if it is just a superhero running around the map killing and conquering I'm not interested.  Can you command legions of troops (similar to Heroes of Might and Magic) and send them out to battle?

I'd compare it to more of a fantasy-based Civilization, but with a wider variety of game mechanics (including turn-based "tactical" combat and customizable units & heroes).

Well I certainly won't play all of these this weekend -- in fact, knowing me, I won't get to even half of them -- but here's what's on my plate: 


Topping my list (and just about everyone else's, it seems) are Distant Worlds: Shadows and Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes.  Would also like to play some Shogun 2, Klingon Academy, Imperialism 2, and Birth of the Federation (am beta-testing the new Ultimate V mod), but as always, time will be a limiting factor.

I believe I am finally going to break out Shogun 2.  I've owned it since it was released and still haven't played it.

Of course, I haven't played Napoleon Total War (nor Empire  Total War for that matter) but who's counting?

I'm also installing Rising Sun, so hopefully that will also see some play.

I'm finally getting interested in playing again after a couple of weeks where I couldn't muster the energy.  That's good since I've bought all of the above during that time!

Is there anything more annoying than clicking on a game on Steam to play only to be told that it has to update to a more efficient version and will be downloading for the next 3 hours?

I suppose hip-hop music is more annoying...but besides that and the above Steam comment?   >:(

Yeah that sucks.  I got lucky tonight though and dl'ing FE: LH did not take more than an hour.   ;D

Loading the game for the first time took me about 20 minutes though whilst it configured whatever it had to configure.

Luckily I have plenty of beer.  I think I'll drink one and surf pr0n while I wait for Shogun 2 to finish becoming more efficient over the next 3 hours.   ::)

Actually, I guess it will be more than one.

Hmmm.  Maybe I'll just play CK2 instead.   8)
