Hey.
Anyone playing this beta.
I really want to get into it but watching the vids of helicopters is a big turn off. Are they still working like newbie arcade planes or have they put in some more realistic flight control.

I'm playing it some.

Now, I don't follow every blow by blow of ARMA 3, but my understanding is that there is discussion of implementing the ToH flight models into ARMA 3. I can't even remember where I read that, so I can't provide more detail than that.

I'd not lose hope just yet.

I've got it too...but haven't messed with it greatly. I much prefer infantry than vehicles so haven't even tried those yet. I just don't have the skills to control them as well as they need to be in order to make them effective.

Supposedly it is more of an alpha. I play in the editor occasionally. It's been looking better and better (visually).

Flight controls are still at a very basic stage. It's my understanding that they're going to implement the Take On Helicopters flight engine at a later date.

Infantry is where it's at and - if I had my way - would be ALL the user could play.

But I'd be happy for them to include whatever they want that makes it sell...though I would like an "infantry only" option campaign (and with no leader mode)

My PC shits its pants if I ask it to play Arma 2, so I'm not even going to consider this one!

ArmAIII is a tad bit more optimized than 2, keeping the details down to a minimum as well as reducing rendering distance helped a lot. Although its still bit of a strain on my PC now, namely due to my outdated motherboard and RAM.
