I wish it were as deep as some sports text sims.  Alas, it's gonna be a tablet-capable free-to-play. 

The idea certainly has potential since the biggest hassle about playing Blood Bowl is the turn-based timers and not being able to take a break from a fairly long match without forfeiting.  BB also has very touchy multiplayer sync issues at times.  This should streamline it down to team building/advancement and preset tactics, I suppose..

Based on the screenshots, I think that's exactly what they're going to do for exactly that reason.

Does it only sim out the actual games (like the team building card game does) or does it actually let you play out the games?  From what you all are saying, it sounds like it just sims the games; in which case I'd pass as well.

I have the latest PC game version and it's ok.  As I ranted with PC wargames vs boardgames, I feel like I'm losing some control in this one.  Can you have it show you the dice rolls for other than the blocking?  If so, I haven't seen it.  I enjoy the boardgame version so much better.  That said, I hunted and found a copy of the lost VASSAL module for Blood Bowl and tinkered around with it a bit this morning.  I think that'd be the way that I'd play BB multiplayer online.

I checked it out today, out of curiosity. 

Definitely pretty thin.  Yes, the games are simmed out.  You just select an offensive and defensive formation before each match. 

The game was definitely created for playing on a tablet.  The control tips even say, "touch this button to do something".  There is only 7 players on a team.  There aren't as many races or abilities available, etc.  I'd like to say that I'd enjoy it on my Kindle, but if I've resorted to using my Kindle then it'll most likely be reading or possibly playing a couple RPGs/Elder Sign when I'm sitting in a waiting room.
