That sucks, I loved his performance in The Last Castle. It would be tough for anyone to square off against Redford well. Both were great performances.

Tony was killed-off at the end of the series, at least as I (and many others) interpreted the end of the last episode.

Couldn't believe what I heard when someone told me the news...he was a great actor and he actually was Tony Soprano ... R.I.P.

I'll have to watch some Sopranos now. And In The Loop...though that's more for Peter Capaldi's amazing performance in the field of inventing obscenities.

Very sad.  So young.  At least he was granted the chance to leave us with a fantastic testament to his talent in his portrayal of Tony S.

I have to say that, watching that, I just wanted to say something along the lines of, "Malcolm, that's Tony Soprano you're taking the piss out of there."  I know it's unfair comparing a full-on, heavyweight drama with a sitcom, but for me the menace exuded by Capaldi in the "Thick of It" just evaporated in the presence of James Gandolfini.
