Now then, if we had 10 guys here on Grogheads with Combined Arms, we could have hella fun. The single player experience is fun to goof off with, but if you're looking for a hardcore simulation it ain't it. BUT, if you are interested in some force on force MP, it can be a lot of fun. It is sort of like (sort of) Wargame AirLand Battle but you can jump into and out of the ground vehicles.

Just don't expect super hardcore modeling of the ground vehicles cause they're not. But it is still fun.

I've got it. Let me know if you want to set something up.

I would add a head tracker to that list-O-parts. IMHO

My touch screen monitor was a game changer for me. Helps not having to memorize keys, just look at a button in the pit and push it onscreen. It's allowed me to jump to all aircraft in game and be effective.

It's hard for me to get FC3 with no clickable cockpit, but if it's on sale so, I may get it. I've been hankering for some a2a and tired of waiting for guys in f15s to clear the skys so my a10 or ka50 can go to work.

I wonder if the standalone f15 and su27 are near release, hence the sale.

The TrackIR5 I picked up a few months ago has been a great experience for me in the DCS and ThirdWire games I've used it on.

I haven't even had to tweak the settings much at all - default worked pretty well right out of the box. ;D

With default settings when I look down at my lap (which is a lot in DCS-A10), my head would quickly start to 'wobble' back and forth... I found a nice profile that is very smooth all around.. it definitely adds a lot of immersion in DCS, where you can practically put your cheek up against that dash!

The 'wobblyness' might be caused by having V-Sync set to on. Disabling it might resolve it and make the TIR experience a lot better.
Its recommended to have V-Sync enabled when using TIR as a general rule of thumb, regardless of the power of your PC.

I get a little wobbliness when looking down at control panels, but it's not terrible. I need to bump up the movement acceleration at higher up & right angles, however - keep forgetting to until I'm flying.

One thing about A-10C lately, though.... I can't push the engine RPMs up past ~94%. Maybe this is as it should be but my throttles max out there and even after adjusting my hotas throttle, it won't go any higher. Maybe there's a governor on the real A-10?

Okay, good to know. I had thought that I was able to push it to 100 (or nearly so) in the past, but perhaps that was in LOMAC or SF2:Europe and not A-10C. I get confuzzled easy sometimes. :o

I'm going to pass on the FC jets for now. The non-clickable pits simply don't do it for me. I've bought FC2 and FC3 now and really they've been charity to the developers for all the time I've spent with them.

I am going to spend more on the helos though. Black Shark 2 upgrade and Huey finally, and I'm really looking forward to that Mi-8 module.

I get these are variants (though I don't know "what" the variant is - I'll look it up later)...I'm not overly happy about "variants" before new airframes.

But they're job isn't to make me happy - it's to make money.

I guess what I'll do is check out the variants, what's in Flaming Cliffs now and decide whether to buy or not. Definitely not interested in the Mi-8.

I'm still waiting for that damned Mig-21!

Yes. I suspect it cuts down on their development time, hence why so many are supposed to be released so fast. I dunno if I'll get all of them, so I'll just pick FC3 up on the sale to cover the ones I don't.

I'd like to see more MiGs too, although the older ones are pretty thin on payload. A fleshed-out Mig-29 would be great. I suppose the Su-27 will have to do in the meantime, although it's not as pretty. :P We need F-18s ASAP too.

I've probably enjoyed the Black Shark more than the rest, however. I want more proper gunships to fly more than anything! >:( I'm a sneaky bastard at heart.

Well - it's there business...but I just want more proper weapons platforms. I know - I know...the Huey can deliver a payload of hell...maybe the Mi-8 can too.

I'm just salivating waiting on proper weapons of war platforms. Maybe I mean more mainstream by that - I don't know. But after BS and A-10 we get P-51, Focke Wulfe (? is that there?), Huey and Mi-8.

I know there's people out there that appreciate these platforms...and I hope they enjoy them - but they're not what I'm waiting for from DCS. I'm waiting for Tornado, Harrier, Ah-64, AH-1, F-18, F-14, F4, A6 as well as some Russian Cold War bad boys and a whole host of others I'd pump the money in for.

I want to support DCS so they can make more - but the releases really need to be something to my liking - otherwise I'm just burning money I really don't have on something that will not get flown.

Until then - I can keep myself busy with trying to get into FC3, A-10 and BS.
