I hope there isn't any online-required game DRM info that got compromised. ::)

The article says their 'UPlay' crap wasn't compromised but we've seen such optimistic announcements retracted a few days later, in the past. Anyway.. I'm guessing it's the Ubi store and perhaps their forum?

Hmmmm.... I got an email this morning purporting to be from Ubisoft in which I was asked to click a link to change my login details. As it was in my spam folder, I assumed it was a phishing attempt and deleted it. Guess I should login to that stupid service and update.

Got the same email. So looks like it's legit. Need to change passwords.

I also got the email and thought it was a phishing attempt, so I spammed it. After some googling, it appeared that the mail was authentic, so I unspammed it and followed the link which directly led to a "change password" box.

Appears to be legit, so don't spam it :P

Good to hear I'm not alone. I got the email as well but did not delete it or spam it until I could do some research. Looks like this is legit.

Legit or not, it's best to make a habit of going to the site on your own instead of clicking links in an email. Phishing attempts could also be going out due to the 'news' being out that they were hacked.

I tried this first (because I also thought of a phishing attempt), but had to discover that the Ubisoft website was down "due to server maintainance". The link worked, though, and let me change my passsword.

Interesting. Perhaps they have resolved the issues because I was able to log into my account directly on the Ubisoft main page and change my password.

The problem was that someone had broken in and stole everyone's password. I doubt they'd have had enough time to log in to everyone's accounts and mess with 'em by now, so current logins should still be gtg.

And just as well I didn't trust the link.

If they had been hacked, how can I trust an email supposedly from them?
Especially when the website I log into has quite a lot of scripting, parameters in the address and can't be properly verified...

Odd, I have an acct at Ubisoft, but didn't get any emails (and I checked my spam/junk folders). Not sure I'd known about the hack except for this thread...thanks.

Now that I've seen the link, it doesn't have any requirement for you to enter your current password in... so if someone was trying to phish your p/w, that wouldn't do it (unless you entered the exact same p/w in as you already had).
