as with all equipment, when you give it a name your usually get a secondary name that the troops actually use.
the A-10 Thunderbolt became the Warthog, the F-16 Fighting Falcon became the Viper and so on.
if we name drones Freebirds then by default theyll be known as Skynyrds.

Also a great name, but not for the drones. I think that needs to be the name of the project that sifts through all the data gathered by the NSA. It's perfect.

For German operate drones i would like to chose  'Hugin' and 'Munin'

(the mystical ravens of Odin, who do daylie recces for him)   

in the Edda is written:
Hugin and Munin fly each day
over the spacious earth.
I fear for Hugin, that he come not back,
