CMBN Market-Garden Pre-Orders

The Market-Garden module for CMBN can be pre-ordered now for the tidy sum of $35. $45 If you want a physical copy plus S&H. Should I make a principalled attempt to refrain from buying for awhile or just surrender now and live with my shame until release? :'(

On the other hand it is pretty confusing this whole base game plus patch plus module. I really think they should just obsolete or totally rename the base game and then move away from using its name in the 2.0 required modules.

lol - I want to buy it - but I have no fracking idea what I am to buy.

I have (I believe) CM:Normandy, CM:Commonwealth, CM:Fortress Italy and CM:Normandy v2 Upgrade...I think.

Is CM:Battle for Normandy the same as CM:Normandy?

I think I just need Market Garden - but I really have no idea and can't be fooking arsed to read through their website to find out. I'm not wanting anyone to check for me - just sayin' I can't be arsed finding out what's what.

And having said all that - I just discovered this on the CM:Market Garden page...

CMBN:MG requires the original game, Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy in order to play, upgraded to v2.0!

BUT - I'm still unclear what CM:Battle for Normandy is! Is it CM:Normandy? Is it CM:Normandy upgraded to v2?

I don't see the CM:BN download in my downloads folder on my hard drive - though I do see CM:Normandy, CM:Fortress Italy and CM:Normandy v2 Upgrade folders!

Which makes me think it's actually CM:Normandy...is it?

If you have CM Battle for Normandy version 2.0 you will be able to set armor arcs and target briefly

All new modules need to have CMBN 2.0

Yep, just one game (CMBN) but 2 modules (Commonwealth & Market-Garden), 1 upgrade (v.2.0) and a few patches.

theres never been a CM:Normandy

start your game, in the bottom left hand corner of the start up screen it will tell you what version you have

Yeah - guessed I always called it wrong.

So it's CM:Battle for Normandy and NOT CM:Normandy.

So that makes more sense.

And I do have v2 - that was never in doubt. My confusion seems to have been linked to the above.

lol - if youre upto v2 you can just go straight ahead and purchase, from what i understand any UI updates and new stuff comes out later in a patch for other editions but there is just brand new stuff youll never get without OMG

Well Market Garden is one I would like.

As I said (in this thread or another) - this is a game I love - but seldom fire up. But I religiously keep it up to date with the latest DLC and patches - even though I rarely play it.

I think it's called (in the medical world) as the Battlefront Syndrome! >:(

I have recently started playing this as PBEM.

I have had games against undrecovergeek and Tuna here at Grogheads and I have to say it has breathed new enthusiasm into my playing this game.

There is nothing quite like playing another human being. Since I have started PBEM I haven't played any of the computer scenarios against the AI. I would highly recommend starting up an online game and seeing if that would get your battle juices flowing
