A-10C Sale

I bought A10 and didn't have to enter code to activate, then I decided to buy black shark 2, combined arms,& the Huey. but I then had to activate seperatly black shark 2, combined arms,& the Huey, but still not A10.

did you guys have to activate, because I thought I'd be ok just with steam as a DRM?

I didn't think it was too bad mainly because most of the keys you're using are just single ones. After setting up my hotas buttons, I use very few of them and none of the multiples like JD's example of RCTRL+I or whatever.

I'm okay with memorizing just a handful of keys that are only a single key press. It's a lot faster & easier to accomplish stuff compared to something like A-10C where you have a long multi-step list of buttons to push in order to even be prepared to launch an attack properly. That's where I suck most.. getting the head-down work done quickly enough before flying past the friggin' target and having to start over again on a new pass. Specifically, in A-10, getting the targeting pod camera to situated and on-target in decent time. Even with all it's commands mapped to my HOTAS, I just can't get it done very quickly or efficiently. Black Shark 2 is a little easier in this respect, mostly because the weapon systems' targeting is all pretty straightforward and the helmet-mounted sight makes it easy to lock the camera close to your target right from the start.

I've only purchased the original Black Shark through Steam, and that was before they even had 'DCS World' so things have changed since then.

I would imagine you'd have to activate A-10C. I did, buying from DCS' site, just like the others. Do you not have a key listed in Steam for it?

I got all the keys on steam, but the A10 didn't need activating , maybe when I bought it first it was the only purchase I had so it auto activated for me, that's all I can think of.

Nef I finaly went to desura after your posts mention about it now and again, its good stuff, I also liked indiedb.com thats linked to desura, thanks for the heads-up on it.

You have to activate your Steam keys in DCS...I posted this on the first page.

It's like a reverse Steam DRM if you can imagine that!

It's all coming back to me. Flight training was a breeze as the concepts are pretty standard among aircraft (both civilian or military).
Now on with the hard part. Weapons.

I was just wondering why I didn't need to activate my A10, I thought it may be a bug

Well - I've just built a new system so had de-activated them all and I did a reinstall of everything yesterday.

I can tell you, categorically, I had to activate A-10C, Flaming Cliffs 3, Black Shark 2 upgrade, Mi-8, P-51 and Huey. I didn't have to activate them on install. Rather, I installed them all (without being asked for activation details). When I had installed everything I started DCS World and I was asked for an activation code for all of my add-ons.

thanks, I got the prompt to activate each addon but didn't get an A10 warthog prompt, but I'm doing the training on it. nevermind I will keep flying and hope the game dosnt crash :)
