I was going to say Wicker Man before the obvious pic but the Daniel Craig thing threw me off.
The only remake I know of was with... Nicholas Cage.

The Wrestling Women vs. The Aztec Mummy was the title when I first saw this at Stellarcon in about 1980 at elliot university center on the campus of UNCG   a convention still in existence today though held off campus for the last 20 years or so....


anyway we saw this prjected! in a giant meeting hall with like a 16mm film I guess it was or maybe bigger, also saw nosferatu in a smaller room projected as well!!!!


I think netflix has it as doctor of doom \ wrestling women vs... double feature!

These two movies were made in 1962 and give us some of the earliest female action heroes on film. Loretta and her American tag-team partner Ruby take on brain-controlled luchadoras and Japanese judo princesses in order to defeat wonderfully cartoony villains whose motives make no sense whatsoever. But who cares? The wrestling scenes are entertaining and even out of the ring the action is close to nonstop. I have a preference for the Aztec Mummy not only for its Mexican twist on the classic Mummy legend, but for the lengthy Aztec piece, which is done in fairly accurate costume because it was helped out by INAH, the National Institute for Anthropology and History, a genuine Mexican government agency. This makes it possibly the only state-sponsored cheesy wrestling film in history. Call the neighbours"

I used to watch AMC's movie marathons were they showed all the classic B scifi/fantasy movies.  Now AMC is pretty much a crap movie channel.

Bob, ya gotta understand that French cinema is pretty-much nonexistent in North America outside of Quebec.  Now a well-heeled mofo like Sonny might be your only hope.  But the subject matter of the film is about 500 years too late to catch Sonny's interest.
