It was remade in 2007 with Daniel Craig playing the constable.  I don't know who had Britt Eckland's role.

The remake was American with Nick Cage in the lead role. Pretty poor compared to the original though.

If it is The Hill, as I suspect, it was set in a British Army Glasshouse in Libya. The Hill is the name of the hill of sand they have to build and run up as part of their rehabilitation lol.

I remember the 1st time that I saw The Hill.  I thought it was going to be a movie version of one of The Glasshouse Gang novels.  I was disappointed.
