Unfortunately, I think the days of edgy movies based on Marvel Comics are over. It's Disney now making movies for the mass market. The first Iron Man was probably as edgy as it's going to get. Before you get too upset though, think of what Michael Bay has done to Transformers and rejoice for Joss Whedon handling the Avengers.

Don't get me wrong, I'm going to watch.  It's just my, 'pull the plug,' reflex may be shorter than if it was something a little more my speed.

They're way overdoing the 'build a team' thing that was already done in Avengers. So far, other than Clark Gregg and Ming-Na Wen, the cast is 'meh'.

Nice to see Nick Fury, but I really want him to drop the "m-f" bomb.

Best episode of the season yet.  Nice, compact story.  Everybody got a turn.  Didn't feel forced.

I like it so far. One thing though, Bear McCready is capable of some amazing theatrical and TV scores. Did he really have to phone this one in?

I'm really liking this show. Who is Bear Mc Cready? Doesn't the cargo hold of the "Bus" look a lot like the cargo hold of Firefly's Serenity? Or is it just me?

My Bad: it's actually spelled McCreary. He has done a number of TV scores and some film. Most of the folks here may know him from the music in the new  Battlestar Galactica:

I agree it's coming along. I am looking at it like ST:TNG. It REALLY took a while for that ensemble to gel and AoS may be having the same growing pains. They need to tone down the goofy scientist types a bit yet.

I have a minor issue with no copilot for the bus regardless of the quality of the auto-pilot. Let's all sing together: "It is an FAA regulaaaaaaaation!.................................."

1) Ming Na Wen will be 50 on November 20.  That's right, I said 50.  Five oh.

I'll be 50 on Nov. 2nd, and I look like a big bag of trash!  I would have guessed that she might be 40, 42 at high end- but she definitely looks mid-30s.
