the man fought against a racist and violent system. i have no problems with him resorting to an armed fight for some time. but like Longblade said South Africa made a mostly peaceful transition and there are many examples like Yugoslavia that didn't manage to do that. this is a huge accomplishment that not only spared many lives but also ensured that SA is one of the best working countries on the continent. the same can be said about Gorbatchev and Jelzin: whatever their mistakes were, they managed to keep an incredible difficult transition to be mostly peaceful.

A terrorist is a terrorist no matter how the media rewrites the person. Taking innocent lives is never excusable, the end does not justify the means when innocents are murdered.

I love you guys but I hope he doesn't rest in peace. I hope he spends a lot of time paying for all of the innocent lives that he took.

I have lost too many friends to terrorist while in the service, many of you lost friends on 9/11; terrorist should never be honored.

If you want to honor and give accolades to a dissident; give them to someone that actually spent time in jail without murdering anyone. Eventually he lead a bloodless revolution....that man deserved recognition yet very few recognized his death.

Keep in mind Vaclav was not thrown in jail for murdering anyone, he was thrown in jail for peacefully going against the government.
