damn but that looks fun though...
My doctor wrote me a prescription for daily sex.

My wife insists that it says dyslexia but what does she know.

^And please note that Breezy agrees with me. So I must be right.

what problems do you see with direct democracy LB? as i happen to live in one, i think of it as a very powerful instrument to restrict the governments power.

Too easy to act irrationally and/or spur of the moment. Also you can get tyranny of the majority.

that might be true. on the other hand if you don't like the current course of action of the government you are quick to change that. the threat of this alone keeps a lot in check.

recently we got a lot of strict immigration laws and a ban of minaretts. you may could call that tyranny.

Irrationality is averaged out. If someone decides to attach 100% of their tax contribution to "Cure for Cancer" or "Guns for the military" they contribute what, $20k on a budget of trillions? So what?

If you want people to take some ownership of their part in the country you encourage them to get informed. Knowing what they are paying for is a good way. The real problem is that there are people that want to scoop up the money of everyone else to play with as they want. Frankly I think that is more open to abuse than the alternate method.

A more serious problem is apathy.
