Yes.  The very first thing that the White House is going to announce is that the President's security was comprimised.  Good grief.  This issue is not who they wanted to bang.  The issue is that they compromised the POTUS.  I think you lost that fact in your rant against South American nations having an interest in South American policy.  And for that matter I'm sure that the US status in South America is not any less today than it was yesterday.  The calls for America to re-evaluate it's position on Cuba is not new.  Frankly America needs to address the culture of drugs that we promote, while on the backside wage a "war".  The United States is not irrelevant in South America and the billions of dollars we continue to send along with Federal agency/military support make that just a fact.

No -- that's not an issue at all because they didn't compromise anyone but themselves. Usually when soliciting information from another party, it's  done clandestinely; for example, without international media attention. The only people to gain from this event are those (1) willing to use to attack Obama during an election year, and (2) unwilling to publicly discuss the growing resentment against US policies in South America.

And you clearly lost the fact that my "rant" was directed at the lack of media and political coverage of the failure of the summit because it's more important to talk about two dozen men willing to pay for a good time. This is an indictment of the media, not South America.

Actually, it is -- which is why the US was on the political defensive and unable to form a consensus about two foundations of its South American policy.

Where did I say the US was irrelevant. I clearly said "increasingly irrelevant" as evidenced by the fact that South America is on the verge of defecting from US policy despite the " billions of dollars we continue to send along with Federal agency/military support."

How do you know that the POTUS was never compromised?  The media coverage?  The White House said so? The fact that Secret Service members in a foreign nation were willing to party it up while on duty is a serious matter.  If the accounts are correct that the POTUS' agenda was openly availible to anyone in the room, that is a serious breach of physical security regardless if the opportunity was acted upon or not.  Thankfully they just wanted their money and not something more nefarious.  Lord knows it wouldn't have been the first time sex was used to compromise security or intelligence.  How exactly is this an attack Obama issue?  I think you might be a little paranoid.  There are a myriad of reasons that those in disagreement with the POTUS could debate his positions and policies.  The Secret Service potentially compromising his security is not one.

Should there be a greater public awareness to American foreign policy?  Hell yeah.  Unfortunately there are many who cannot name the 50 States or the three branches of government, let alone be knowledgable on the policy positioning between the United States and the Union of South American Nations.  This speaks very clearly about the quality of news that we are presented and the priority that is given in educating the public about current events.  The media is first and foremost an entertainment industry that's bottom line is to make money.  Hence you get wall to wall coverage on the court cases like Casey Anthony or celebrity news like what is Jennifer Aniston wearing.  South American foreign policy is not going to rate high on getting a 30 second story on the evening news.  It won't even rate high on getting coverage on any of the political pundit shows.  You will get long segments on the immigration border policy.  Or the "War on drugs".  Why?  Because it's easy for the media to cast in a right/left spectrum.  That in turn allows the pundits, who bring in the ratings and money, to be bombastic in their discussions.  That sells.  The Union of South American Nations policy coverage?  Not so much.  Is that right?  Not in my opinion.  I'd like for the average American to be more aware of what is being done by the government and why.  That being said.  Even if you did have the coverage you wanted just how unbiased do you think it would be?  The supporters of the POTUS would spin one way and the detractors would spin another.  The facts would be lost in between.

Facts are facts...these ladies held at the very least TS SCI clearances. My guess is that the had Yankee white Clearances in addition to TS SCI clearances.

They should not have been doing ANYTHING that did not support the mission.

They can party all that they want when they are back in the States, they are not supposed to be dealing with call girls in any country. The best way to describe this is:

The first lovely lady I was ever with didn't care that I claimed to be a virgin at the ripe old age of 16. So, to prove it, I went to a clinic far, far away from where my Mom would ever find out - at 99th Street and Amsterdam Avenue in NYC, circa 1991. Most of the exams were harmless, but the gonorrhea one involved a long thin glass rod rammed where the sun don't shine to get a 'fluid sample'...performed by a gigantic black male orderly. He was cool and warned me that 'it may sting a little.'

Well it certainly did! I could barely walk for a couple of days after but I did get my orange NYC Health Department 'clean card.' Limping into the gal's apartment later that day, she thanked me. But we didn't actually do the nasty until almost two years later!!

I will never forget that for the rest of my life. Just a few years ago I discovered that the way I was tested was 'the old way' that was phased out probably a mere months after it was done to me. D'OH.
