Boyer quick review of Outlast

 Survival horror.
Armed with only a camcorder, you must unravel the mystery of some insane asylum/research facility in Colorado

Story is simple enough to follow at first, but then becomes convoluted towards the end.

A few scary jump out of your seat moments at the beginning of the game. But later it just becomes a typical FPS, where you need to find the key to open a door game. Just a tad monotonous after a while.

Game is only like 4 hours long, which is good because you are starting to lose interest at about that point. 

Bottom Line: Its under 20 dollars and the game does have a few memorable moments. Not bad if you need a a quick fix for a survival/horror game.

I'll probably pick it up further down the road when it hits a rock bottom price. I've watched quite a few gameplay vids of it and that jumping-out stuff and looking under the bed for you is unnerving, but looks like fun! Who wouldn't want to be chased in the dark by cannibalistic mental patients?
