I am sure many of you saw the headline about Americans failing to know that the Earth revolves around the Sun. I ran across this article this morning. In it are ten of the questions on the survey, along with the answers, and a graph showing the correct responses of other countries. The thing I took away from it was that Americans, and most other countries, look to know about 50% of the answers. How much of a failing is that? And what does it portend?

I've looked at the Common Core crap being pushed by the school and it drives my blood pressure up. I'm not sure who the morons were who designed this crap, but they defrauded the American taxpayer with their stupidity.

science almost seems to be a lost art.

the fact that our rocket boffins had to reverse engineer the Saturn 5 motors because they were to stupid to come up with anything better boggles my mind. wtf has JPL been dicking around with?! (besides ion drives, plasma shields and whatever it is that lets the F-22 go sideways.)

Frankly America is regressing in terms of science, math, engineer, English comprehension, and just about anything else that would be useful in the real world.

even more worrysome thing i ve read yesterday (and a hint for the reason behind scienc is downspiraling ) :
the American Association for the Advancement of Science told on a meeting in Chicago.
90% of the Americans (10000 samples) don't believe in evolution as a driving force, somehow a deity was involved in creation of space, earth and humans ...at least in the early beginning or intervented into the process

and 33% actually believe that humans an all other living things existed in their present since the beginning of time :o
